I followed a 2009 Borneo expedition on a site called Adventure Rider. This one had 3 guys on dirt bikes along with the 4wds. It looked brutal. These guys were animals.

I told the wife that one day I wanted to drive up to Northern Canada all the way down to the tip of South America in a kick ass expedition style wrangler, she looked at me like I was crazy.

What are you doing next year? I'm hoping to drive the Alcan, then on to Prudho Bay. Take ferry back. Would love a fellow adventurer.

Funny you should mention what Im doing next year, because as of Feb 2012 I'll be completely free. At least until I find a job after moving back home. If I get the job im trying for though I should have some free time and the money to do it. So, well just have to stay in touch on that subject.

Good question. I don't know. I'm retired and the USAF friend who is traveling with me is retired, so that hasn't been much of a planning factor. Four weeks? That's a WAG. We're both avid photographers, so we will spend a lot of time chasing the light. We are headed to wheel Colorado later this year, so we'll be firming up our plans for next year ATT.
