Expedition Modded Jeeps - Let's see 'em!!
Dual batteries, on board air, and a winch with zero other frivolous electrical accessories. I think I've finally built what's "required" to be an East Coast overlander. Factory (07-10) GPS is also installed in the dash to help keep me on track. Now it's time to do as Mark constantly suggests- go enjoy it. Don't just build it- go enjoy it.

I've been on this site for a while now but don't post super often. I'm turning to more of an expedition build and recently installed a new roof rack so I thought I might as well post up! Here are some photos of the current set up with plans to build a custom cargo system in the near future, once I have that completed I will post a photo or two of that. I haven't seen a ton of info on this rack, especially on a two door. It is a Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform with their Backbone system and I'm extremely happy with it so far and have plans to mount an RTT on top for summer. If anyone wants any other info feel free to ask.
My wife and I just returned from spending a month in Southern Utah and Arizona. I think next year we will spend at least two months. Our Jeep is expedition modded, and I've gone Jeep camping in it with my brother and his Jeep. However, the wife isn't interested in roughing it, so you can see our camping rig in the attached photos. We also go camping and ATVing in the summer, and our motorhome is an Outlaw toy-hauler. We left the ATVs at home for this trip, but we can take the Jeep and the ATVs both, if we want, for short trips. We seldom stay in a campground so the Outlaw is equipped for boondocking. The photos are from the following areas. St. George UT, Apache Junction AZ, and Fredonia AZ where we wheeled in Northern AZ and near Kanab UT. I broke one taillight, peeled the boot off the rear driveshaft, and the clock spring went junk from the dust. Jeep has a recall on the clock spring, BTW, and they install a different steering column shroud that is supposed to eliminate the problem. I hope you enjoy the photos. The Jeep on its top isn't ours, BTW. We used the "Funtreks" guide book to help us find the trails and I would highly recommend using these guides and the GPS data cards that you can get to go with them.
