Grand Mesa-Uncompahgre Exploration, Part 3 is coming online. It's the final part for the trip itself, but not the final video from the trip. More in the studio chat at the end of this one ...

Love these videos, Mark!

How are you liking your KO2 tires now that you've run so much on them? I've got C rated 35's on my JLUR and about 24k miles on them and I've been very impressed. I don't have nearly the miles off-road that you do, but I've had them in some pretty rough stuff and I've been very pleased. Wear appears to be excellent. I've been just as pleased with how quiet and smooth they are on the highway, too. I also have the 33's that came on the JL on my JK, and they've been great on it, too, although I've not pressed them as hard or run them as far as on the JL.

I ask becaause friends ask me about them all the time, especially when off-roading with them and they see them do well. I tell them I've not experience a tire that is this good at so many things. but I doubt I know anyone who has run them as much as you, so far, and in so many different conditions.

They've been great. To be honest, though, I've been through two mild winters with them. But friends of mine who run them in other places say the winter performance is excellent. Mine are actually getting pretty worn down and will need replacement soon (still tread left, but getting rather thin for off-road use). But, the wear is nice and even, and the tires remain quiet on the highway.

Thanks for the update! I just yesterday took a bad turn on a shortcut on a trail in the Pisgah National Forest. It was thick mud and uphill, and I couldn't back out. I had to press through it. I really thought I was going to be doing a great deal of winching to get up the hill, but with a little rpm (Not crazy, though) the KO2's got the job done. They were able to shed enough mud to pull me up the hill. I was shocked. We then took to some country roads and then I75 for a 7.5 hour trip home, with a nice, smooth, quiet ride. I'm really pleased with them. I'm doing a 5 tire rotation on my JL and have 24k miles on them now. They are wearing as if they will go a long, long time.

I knew you had the tire through its paces and wanted to see what to expect long-term. Glad to hear they've been great! Btw, I've done some pretty good snow with them and they were outstanding.

I got rid of my k02's just a couple months ago for something a little meatier but they were at 55k and still had 9/32" tread left. Like Mark said, a little low for wheeling but still acceptable to most folks.

Did you rotate 4 or 5? I probably won't go below 9/32 when I replace these. For one thing, they can be sold to a used tire store with that much tread left. You avoid the disposal fee and with 35's, may get 100 to 150 bucks, or so. I sold my JK's KM2's for about $150 on Craigslist when I swapped my JLUR's KO2's onto it.

I rotated all 5 and while I don't do as many miles off-road as Mark does, I like to get them warm and sticky when I get out into the rocks. A little extra skinny pedal when there's mud too so I probably took some miles off but they still rode nice as could be. I think I sold them for $400 at that level.
