Expedition Modded Jeeps - Let's see 'em!!
Here is a rear shelf / table I just finished up a while ago. I'm going to change out the steel cable for flat stock bolted together just so they fold up neater and are the exact same length. I was about 1/8" off in matching the lengths of the cable so the table isn't 100% flat, plus they don't fold up nicely for the rear glass and tailgate. (The ground I park on isn't 100% flat either, but I know it's not quite right... and now all of you do, too!)

A few minutes on the sheet metal brake and $14 at Home Depot (for the screws, bolts, nylon washers, nuts and aluminum angle material). I used 18ga. galvanized steel and painted it with black bedliner. Not too hard to do. I'd need to tidy it up some before selling it. Probably cheaper for you to walk into a sheet metal shop and ask for them to bend something up for you.
Here is another picture of it in use.

Its a cool table, and now I will be looking into getting a sheetmetal brake for this and all the other things I want to make. May still go aftermarket, but this is so simple to do! Thanks!
On a side note: Guys (girls?
) don't start telling someone on the forum you will buy something from them, shoot PM's etc. Too many threads and good contributors to the forum have been ruined that way over the years. Congratulate him on a job well done and leave it at that. There are plenty of vendor options for something similar, but here is a good example of something you can do on your own with a little time and effort if you want to and its a great addition to the theme of Expedition modded jeeps. Not trying to do the moderators' job, just seen it go bad too many times.

As for the home-made shelf: If you plan on using it for kitchen duties, I'd recommend stainless steel. It's easier to keep sanitary, and the last thing you'd want on an expedition is some nasty stomach virus.
