Stolen jeep chula vista
This really blows man. Like another poster said, it's not the first jeep, i think this is the 4th in a few months? I park mine in the garage but are still worried when I leave it out. Dealing with gang's across the border has to be something else, they have no fear of the law and seem to be well connected. Hopefully the heat around the jeep makes them lose interest in your jeep. What does the insurance company say about it? Hopefully you get it back and we will see you out on the trails soon.
my jeep has a new vin number that matches the Mexican jeep so technically "this is not my jeep” but the physical evidence says that is my jeep, this is really confusing honestly I don’t know how this is going to end, think about this; now my jeep has a different vin, with different license plates and was imported to mexico and everything was done legally.
Your English is fine. Sorry for being a nag, but do you have remote start? I'm wondering because there has been a crime wave of vehicles with remote door unlock being broken into by some magical device that the authorities have been unable to pin down (or at least claim that they haven't been able to). I'm wondering if Jeeps with remote start are vulnerable to this--20 minutes is awful fast for them to have gotten to the border. Either they had a duplicate key, or something magical for the break-in.

Tales like this are why I didn't pay extra for the glass etching when I bought mine. It's clear they can 'adjust' things to fit what they need. As the old saying in regards to theft goes- "If they want it, they will take it"
YOU DON'T F*%& WITH A MAN'S JEEP!
If it was my Jeep I would go straight to the top of Chrysler if I had to. You don't want to be waiting around for the local pd to fix this for you brotha. The fact that another member mentioned a vin on the frame is something I would follow up with. I would think those clever thieves couldn't have tampered with it so quickly. Get under that ride with plenty of light, a scrub brush and no shortage of enthusiasm to find that number and win back your pride.

The police have code scanners, so unless the pulled the ECU and replaced it, they should just have to plug in and it will show you the VIN also engine block code either way something will not match up. Between that and the VIN's stamped on the frame, and inside the tailgate, it should be a no brainer.
Keep your receipts, make sure you have good insurance, because you never know.

This might be a silly thought but did anyone think about checking the new VIN on Mopars website to see if it is even a valid VIN. If they were able to hack Mopars site they are really sophisticated. Unless they just used another existing VIN although that should have been picked up as a duplicate when the police entered it in the system.

I just got a call from the detective saying that they were able to prove that it was my jeep, but the detective told me that the guys that stole my jeep were very professionals, they changed all the numbers including the numbers on the frame, engine and the ones that were hidden and those numbers belong to an american jeep from another state. he also told me that this is the most profetional job that he has seen.
I don’t know what is going to happen with the jeep specially now that has differ numbers, I don’t think the insurance is going to be able to remark the jeep but hopefully everything gets fix.
also the detective told me that he is recovering an average of 4 jeeps per day just in the san diego area and the majority have license plates from mexico, so lock your jeep and be carful.
