What was done to your JK this week?
Received my "Special Offer" kit from Turtle Wax with the clay bar, Ice polish, couple bottles of detailer and all the applicators/microfiber cloths...soooo....went ahead and did the full treatment on my JK..
WOW, what a difference!! Now, it may be that I'm still a noob when it comes to good polishes, etc, but man, this stuff rocks!! The ease at which it went on, the fact that I don't have to be careful around the black plastic bits, and the pure shine at the end was an eye opener for me.
Then, of course, the wife's Sahara looked rather depressed next to my X, so I graciously did the same to her Jeep as well...was initially concerned that the darker Red Rock would be more of a challenge to get the same results, but it turned out not to be the case at all.
Both Jeeps look as they they just came off the showroom...I'm sold!!

Here's a quick write up.
Get the LED Module (I got the red one, white might be even better) with Aluminum Housing Low Profile Wide Angle 009 (1W)

from plasmaled.com.
Use the two holes to bolt it to the center cap.
Swing buy Tractor Supply to get the $6.98 (it was on sale for $3.98) Blazer LED Multi Reflective Red 2 in trailer light.

Gut the plastic back of the LED housing to get the reflector and lens separate from the pitifully weak LED.
I used a dremmel with a drill bit (I know, but it was laying on the workbench), just be careful of how deep you go so you don't damage the reflecor.
I used silicone to mount the reflector to the aluminum LED, then just superglued the lens to the center cap over the reflector.
You can wire this up however you like, but I used some old heavy duty coiled microphone CB cord, reversed the grommet on the passenger side of the tailgate so it wouldn't pull through, and zip tied the end to the FabFour tire carrier. A 2 wire trailer quick disconnect allows quick removal for tire change/rotation. Of course shrink wrapped everything for water resistance.
Almost any 2" clearance/marker/tail light would work great for this application, but I wanted LED for the fast fast responce time (it's surprising how much faster than the filament bulbs this is) and needed a Luxeon/CREE style bulb for brightness for day use. Might have to try CREE bulbs for the 2 other brake lights now, but will still have to deal with the flasher problem with a module.
