If I have my VIN does that automatically mean I'm D1? I can't get my salesperson on the phone, go figure. They also just got a silver rubi with black leather in... Though its auto.. I may go test drive it.

My personal preference is the auto. If your going to do daily driving in traffic, a manual is a pita.

 

Having a VIN doesn't mean you are D1. I've had my vin for about a month but just went D1 on Thursday.

Call the 800 number. You'll get an answer there.

 

I've owned a 2008 and 2011 JKU both 6-speed. I just find rowing through the gears much more fun... But you're right - bumper to bumper traffic with a manual can suck. If my salesperson calls me back I may go to test drive this one.

 

Going to call both again shortly. I wish they'd be more transparent with what's happening.

 

Well... I guess 'something' is still hanging me up. I called Jeep again and asked if I was in D1 status and the guy told me no.. that I was in production scheduled. He told me it could be up to 2 more weeks before I'm in D1 being I ordered on the 16th of Jan.

My dealer told me to keep my truck under 10k miles for the trade value to stay good and I'm at 9,974 on the odo... I guess I'm just going to troll around south texas to try to find one with a manual transmission in the meantime. There is one locally but it's silver and is a MW3... and I don't even like MW3(the game). :/

 

I got the same response when calling the Jeep line, but my dealer looked it up and was able to give me an estimated ship date (3/2).

 

Ordered 3 Feb with a delivery date of 25 May. At least I have the VIN but no D1. Not like I am in a hurry...yet.

 

I ordered mine on 1/26. I checked on the 15th and it was still just "scheduled". However, the next day 1/26, I received an email that it had shipped. Im in Chicago, so Im expecting to be able to pick it up within the next week or so, maybe tow. Much faster than I planned.
