MortuaR nailed it. Basically, the "scheduled for production" in VOTS is a joke. When you get your 2nd email, you are 2 weeks from going to the line and shipped (40 hours on the line then shipping). Assuming no problems in inspection, you then get shipped almost exactly 2 weeks from 2nd email. Then up to 2 weeks delivery from that point, depending where you live (assuming either coast in U.S. -- mine looks to be 12 days from Toledo to Seattle-ish).

Give or take, 4 weeks from the second email. The second e-mail is key, which means you are officially D1. Until then, you are just a confirmed order regardless of what VOTS says.

I can't seem to recall how to post a picture. Have a screenshot showing that I am in paint. But again, VOTS is notoriously delayed. I expect a "shipped" email tomorrow morning. Monday at the latest. But if anyone wants to refresh my memory on how to post a pic, I can show the silly "in paint" screenshot that my VOTS shows today. But you won't likely get a "frame, trim, inspection" etc. in VOTS. Everyone only seems to get "paint."

 

 

I think it is just crazy that a person should have to wait three months to take delivery on a factory order. Before my dad passed away, he was a fleet sales manager at a big local Ford dealership. The average wait time he would tell me on a Ford factory order is 4 to 6 weeks at the most.

 

Just got my "shipped" email! Right on time with my expected ship date (3/2) I received 2 weeks ago. VOTS never changed from Paint, and it seems to be down now to see if it caught up.

 

Everything I keep reading about wait time, it appears that manual trans orders are taking longer. Does anyone know why?

 

I have a feeling it's due to a super small percentage of people ordering them (especially based of what i've read on this forum in this and other threads). Maybe they try to keep similar orders together so the QC/inspection goes faster? I'm really not sure... but Jeep says "nothing is holding up your order" - little do they know we're all hanging out chatting about our orders and how long they're taking finding similarities in orders that are being held up.

It really sucks to think that just getting a 6spd vs the new auto would cause my jeep to take an extra few weeks to get to me. It sucks even more that no local dealerships are ordering manuals because "the autos just sell better and no one wants manual anymore." I mean, come on! There *are* people that love rowing through gears. I feel penalized for ordering the manual transmission. WTF Jeep?

Got my shipment e-mail this morning, as expected. Looks like I'm roughly 12 days away from receiving it.

Haha! Thanks! I think the manual trans orders should be moved to the front of the lines *not* the back.

I'm just super impatient and can't drive my truck anymore until this beast comes in on 3/21 (if they hit the mark).
