If you don't like the price, don't buy it! If everyone stopped paying these "price gouging" rates, they'd be forced to lower the price.
They offer incentives on vehicles that don't sell well or are over stocked.
*Edit*
And it's price gouging when there is no alternative; gasoline, milk, etc. There are plenty other vehicles you could buy/own.

Well 10% or roughly $2800 would be due to inflation and the relative value of the 2011 dollar to the 2007 dollar-- thank you Stimulus Plan. The rest would be commodity prices that increase the relative cost of constructing the vehicle. I don't like it, but it is easily explainable by means other than Chrysler having malicious intent towards its consumers.

Hey Guys! Those of you who have placed your orders for a 2012, are your dealers locking you into the options you selected or do you have the choice to make changes before production starts? My salesman just talked me out of placing my order today because of the unknown final pricing.
Are your orders written in stone at this time and have you already negotiated some sort of purchase price? I'm kinda confused as I've never pre-ordered a vehicle before.

The guys at AEV are indicating that the COD pkg will be more than stickers this year. Check their forum for details if interested.Attachment 169506
This is allegedly the "Hood Bulge" an AEV hood w/o side vents for snorkel.

Dunno, this is the quote from the AEV guy: "All I can say is order the COD package heavily. Unlike last years COD package that consisted of a sticker on the cowl, this years is going to be very sought after. Jeep is definitely paying attention to their customers."
