That bites, my vendor Alen Samuel on 35 in FW, TX says anything over a C status can't have changes once the VIN is created. My 2012 unlimited Rbicon with D1 status will have 3.73 gears :( I sat with my dealer and there was still not an option to build the automatic with the 4.10 gears. MY guess is Chrysler wants to get a few jeeps out with better MPG before they give everyone the 4.10 option with the automatic.

How can you be sad/mad about this?

You ordered the Jeep knowing there wasn't the option at the time. I can't imagine paying that much money and not getting exactly what I wanted.

We'll see. Looks like I'm still in D status and if the Factory Rep I spoke with on Saturday told me right (yes I was given her cell phone# ), she said she could make changes for me today in D status. I haven't been able to get in touch with with my dealership's purchasing manager to confirm if he was able to get the changes made with the Rep for me this morning. I'm getting worried.

Default Chrysler Daily News

As of June dealers can update cars with C status. Doesn't say they are able to update D or D1 status. I am reading the Chryslers daily news with my Vendor. Chrysler is canceling all the 2012 stock Rubicons because of VOIM problems. There was more specifics to the information on the stock Rubicons that are being cancelled today. Hope this info helps. I was told since my Rubi is not stock and D1 status I should be fine other than the fact I can't get the 4.10 gears b/c of my D1 status.

Correct. Dealers cannot change after C status, I think the Factory Reps can but not sure what status it needs to be in for the Reps to have access.

Hopefully we are able to change it, I'll be in the dealership tomorrow to hopefully work it out. Maybe something we can solve once the Jeep is delivered.

I'm bummed there is no factory bed-liner option. I was really looking forward to that.

The more I think about it the less I care. I won't lift it for a couple years and don't need the 4.10s until after I put the 35s on it so for now I will consider it my fuel efficient vehecle once it comes in

Brian who is the GM over the dealership called his Chrysler rep and was told if the 4.10 is not an option on the web site (which it is not) then they will not make the modification to the Jeep. So until they get the website updated for building your Rubicon with an automatic transmission and on the screen you see and can select an option to choose 4.10 gears I don't think anyone is getting them. One thing that is new while building your Jeep on the Chrysler website is a little popup telling you that the 5 speed automatic comes with the 3.73 and the 6 speed manual comes with the 4.10. May be Chrysler’s way of increasing the MPG on the first run of Jeeps for good publicity.

I didn't see the option to select 4.10 with an automatic transmission. Have you seen this or know when this option is going to be available?
