Biggest violators of the wave???
That's funny, I get the most waves from JKers... I think they are pumped to see someone driving the same Jeep.
Honestly, I get snubbed more often by heavily modded older Jeeps that are still pissed about the 4-door. Not specifically CJs, YJs or TJs-- just some of the more hardcore, less secure, judgmental kind of dudes. I can read their minds as they look at me, see me wave and turn their heads....

). I read about the Jeep waive, but actually, I've never seen it and I'm in Colorado-- we've got a Jeep or two.I wave at everybody in a Jeep especially Wrangler/CJ types and even at one next to me at a light. Not ONE wave back. The guy at the light in a topless modded CJ, I have to believe, thought that my JK 4door isn't a real Jeep. Whatever. It's a real something though... a real lot of fun, and I love the &%$# out of driving it. Wish I had a delivery job in the mountains just so I could 4xdrive it all day.
But I'm pretty much done waiving at Jeeps unless they waive first.
On my way home from work yesterday (only about a 10 mile drive), I waved to 4 different TJs. Only 1  of them waved back. I haved received waves from plenty (probably 80% or so) of CJ and YJ owners, but the TJs are the worst offenders in my area. Haven't seen many other JKs on the road around me, but the ones I have seen have just about all waved.
I am a new owner, never had a Jeep before (have a 1965 Land Rover --now for sale...

It's not what they drive so much as who they are. I've gotten waves back from virtually every type of Jeep unless they are being driven by a young (I'll define young as under thirty) girl. They NEVER wave back. Oh yeah.........if you drive a Jeep and live in Maine, you never wave back. Cross the state line back into NH and everybody waves (except for the aforementioned little girls.)
That is the kind of person that doesn't deserve to own a jeep. That is just stupid and he has no clue of what the Jeep (flat fenders,CJ's, YJ's,TJ's, and JK's) Family is all about. Not all Jeep drivers are like that thank God. I can't wait until the JK is no longer the new kid on the block. That will make that guy feel stupid, I hope anyway.
When it comes to Jeeps I only wave to other JK's. I think they really like it because I've yet to see any other JK's in the area that are modified. They see mine and they just grin and wave back.
Other Wranglers? I only get sneered at. No one has said anything to me but you can see the contempt in their eyes. I never wave to them. My wife said I missed a guy in a TJ that waved but he waited until the last second and I didn't catch him in time. I don't care what they think, I just smile to myself and enjoy my Jeep.
Of course, here in Montana people just wave to each other anyway. You don't have to know them, and you don't have to drive the same vehicle. People with trucks tend to wave more and it's usually when you are passing on gravel roads or trails. Little harder to wave in town, you'd have your hand out the window the entire time.

My fiance was driving today and she said a sweet lifted TJ rubicon passed her. He slowed down as he was passing her and let her pull back along side him. She said he was really checking our Rubi out, he then gave a wave and a nod, like "nice jeep" and continued on his way!
She called me right away and told me about it, she was all excited. Then later we were goin to pick up dinner and saw 3 more tj's, 2 lifted ones, they all waved! Great wave day, my faith might be restored!
