how to keep cats out when doorless??
To add to this thread, Second jeep was hit last night
My YJ was hit a few years ago, now my JK U. same place front passenger floor. Lucky I put the quadratec rubber floor mats in the JKU and there does not appear to be any collatoral damage.
One thought on keeping them out (I run top off all summer and put a trail cover on every night.) at your local garden center you should be able to find a motion activated sprinkler called the "Scarecrow" http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1...u=01299609000P
I've used it in the past for squirels and other critters in the garden. Believe me, my first thought this AM was "i'm going to kill every cat in the neighborhood" and I have 3 (all indoor) cats. But after the cooling off period, I'm putting the scarecrow to work tonight.

Camerogirl said no animals were meant to be inside only animals...my dog would disagree, I asked him, he said helz noze, I don't even go outside to pee when it's raining, I'm sure as helz not going live out there!

I would not kill the cat with my AR, too loud, live in a too crowed n'hood and I just wouldn't do anything like that, but I do like the cayenne pepper thing and the duct tape.
This is the problem I'm having... I have no problem with the cat but I noticed it pissed all over the front driver and passenger floorboard and the middle back seat on friday night, so i cleaned it saturday, went wheeling, got back super late so I was ok on saturday night but I go outside this morning and see piss in all of the same spots. Now I'm struggling to get the smell out and find a way to keep the cat out. I got the bestop trail cover but it sure is a PITA for a problem that I really shouldn't have to deal with in the first place. The jeep is parked in my attached carport to my house, its not like its even on the street.
I also keep my hardtop on my covered patio in my gated backyard, and last time i went to put it one, I noticed that the cat had peed all over the inside of the top. This is ridiculous.

The owner of the cat is liable for damage done to your property. Simply call the police, they handle public safety issues. When the owner gets stuck with the bill he will not be happy. Though you will probably have to film the cat as proof.
Even though there's an ordinance in my town prohibiting "free range" cats, there are several of them in my neighborhood. A while back I noticed some paw prints on my hood and I wondered if I might get a stowaway some time when I have the doors off, but then I thought they probably don't like the way my Jeep smells.
I don't care how hard it is to keep a cat inside/outside. He is your cat and your problem. If its too much trouble, DON'T have a pet! If I wanted cat prints on my hood, I'd get my own cat. I've put out the pepper for squires, not sure how it works for cats. The live trap is the best. Relocate that bad boy several miles away or drop it at the shelter. I hate it for you cat guys.
I've tried everything and still have problems with the cat. I can't think of anything else. I guess my jeep really isn't a top off type of vehicle...
The cat is still around although I don't see him. Now he just sprays on top of the hard top occasionally even with the whole thing sealed up.
I wish I could run no top and no doors like I used to. Maybe I'll just have to look into turning the carport into a garage.

I have seen this thread pop up a number of times and have resisted the urge to respond but I cannot resist anymore. People these are jeeps, who cares about a little hair, I have mud covering my seats, the floor, the sport bar padding the dashboard etc..., carpet is clean becasue I removed it. I have smashed the crap out of my rear stock bumper, the undercarriage of my jeep looks like someone took a giant cheese grater to it. I have ripped off my front and rear fenders. I have only 11,000 miles on my jeep. And you guys are worried about some hair and a few fleas.
I am more worried about the giant spiders that have moved in since I removed my rear widows several months ago.
Seriously, and you guys wonder why TJ drivers make fun of JK drivers on some other forums. I understand H2s have a top and windows, dont need to worry about the kittys soiling your fine interior with one them.
Rant over.
