List your Jeep related pet peeves/rants here.....
Not a peeve about the jeep , more about myself. It is too easy to perform the "dimple mod"...
..and one for the jeep itself...Chrysler, if you are going to go to the trouble and break Wrangler tradition by putting fancy controls on the steering wheel, at least you could use quality parts that work better...I am tired of having to hit the menu button 3-4 times for each step advance of the menu. It has gotten to be such a pain I don't bother resetting the MPG gauge anymore.

Jen, I agree with you entirely, with one exception.. I have been persistent with the wave even though I get very little response. We've beaten the wave issue to death in other threads... I am not giving up.
Where I disagree...
And we've beaten this to death in numerous posts as well.
I make no assumptions that the model trim you choose makes any difference in whether you get it or not. Some folks just need to show others what they have and a label, logo or insignia is all it's about. Many of these same people think Dana is a chick, disco's are where you danced years ago and lockers are where you stuffed your books back in high school.
It is to this that I attribute the lack of wave-backs. I live in an area where folks think they are better, richer, cooler.. And I have a pretty good feeling that they bought a JK for the reason above.. sad. Me? I am waiting for them to ask me to leave the neighborhood...

Good point, her ruby was STOCK, where my little "Sport" is not. HA! I'll keep waving, even if she does ignore me, it's no worse than the guy in the M&M green TJ that I wave at everyday for him to ignore me *sigh* It must be so exhausting trying to be that "cool".
With regard to "the wave", it's a bit unfair to get mad at people for not knowing. Unless you visited a site like this, you wouldn't know about the wave. My dealer didn't tell me, none of my friends have owned a Wrangler, and I did not buy it because of this Jeep culture thing I had never heard about before. Okay, I'm a curious guy and do a lot of internet research regarding my interests so I happened upon this site. I am glad I learned about the wave and live close enought to Fort Bragg that I get 3-4 waves a day by enlightened folks, but most certainly I do not hold a grudge on people who are just unaware. There is more than one type of Jeep owner and that is okay with me.
I almost feel your pain. I was thinking of buying a used 07-09 JK, and my coworker showed me how much work he had to put into tucking his top in the door channels. I said screw it went for the 2010 with the improved top.
I would say doing research on which mod it would like to next, spending time planning that mod, getting the cash together, and for the wife to override me with something that she wants.
I am ready to start building bumpers, she wants bucket rear seats and a lift. I guess life could be worse. That and the jeep is hers.
