Love it...? or Hate it...?
This is my first jeep and I love always wanted one glad I waited. If this one got totalled today I'm getting another one. There is just so much you can do to these things it's crazy. And all of it's pretty simple to do yourself.
here goes:
my JK is my 5th Wrangler, 4th brand new one.. I Love the Jeep EXCEPT for all of its service problems and for the LACKLUSTER customer service from Chrysler.... ive posted several places on this board all the electrical issues I have had with it.. and continue to have with it.. this last time it was in the shop for over 3 weeks... anf guess what the electric cooling fan has decided to fail once again and service engine light is on again too....
ayeeeee...
so Im goingto have to Lemon it but guess what - im asking for Chrysler to replace it with another Wrangler 4 door just like it - although maybe a few more options for my trouble! but regardless.... I really cant see myself in anything but a Jeep Wrangler.....
so yeah i love the Jeep just not al lthe problems... and it seems far more people that I know of have little or nothing go wrong with their wranglers so im all about having them get me a new one

Well, I've had my 08 4-dr for nearly a year now, and I have over 20,000 miles on it.
I have to say it is the best vehicle I've ever owned, and I'm a 4 Jeep Cherokees and 2 Jeep Wranglers past owner...lol.
I love my JK. I've had ZERO problems.

Very minor problems to report so far. I just got my 2008 and the tire pressure monitor wasn't working and the left turn signal wouldn't cancel. The dealer ordered a new module and multi-function switch and had it the next day. Both problems were fixed within an hour.
I have been off roading for many years and have driven a mix of 4X4s including a Dodge Power Wagon, with problems and a Toyota Taco short-bed, with no problems. In 1997, I bought a TJ, modified it to the hilt and drove the most difficult trails I could find on the west coast. I loved that TJ, but wanted something a little more sophisticated. In December 2007, I traded the TJ in on a JK "X" Unlimited. The JK is better than the TJ, right out of the box, and is a much better daily driver. Good mileage and better ride. In an earlier post, someone astutely observed that a Jeep Wrangler is not a SUV. Absolutely true! A Jeep is a Jeep, not to be compared with anything else. If you are having doubts and your SUV driving friends are feeding you data that they know nothing about, then you might be happier with a SUV. A Jeep is a way of life, with a worldwide network of friends, who will help each other at the drop of a hat. It's more than just a vehicle.
6,000 miles on my 2008 4 door X. Only problem I had is the one I caused myself when I went offroading for the very first time. Other than that, no problems at all. It wheels, it tows, it hauls, it carries lots of passengers. It's a very useful vehicle to have, and gas prices are going down if this is a factor for you as it is for me (mine's a daily driver). At the risk of being hanged for saying so, I'm not a hardcore Jeep enthusiast. I just can't get emotionally attached to an inanimate object like a friend with benefits or a car etc. Not even a surfboard. And I don't have enough time to wheel enough to really get into it, but I do it occasionally probably like most Jeepers. So, my opinion is unbiased. If it was junk, I'd say so and recommend you don't buy one. But I've found this vehicle incredibly fun and useful and quite reliable. I've found the soft top a piece of cake to take up and down and the doors easily go off and on. You can install a 3rd row seat if you'd like, as did I. You can get all kinds of attachments that'll make your Jeep more useful than you can imagine. There's really nothing these things can't do onroad and offroad. So go for it, especially since Chrysler's dying for business. Great timing to buy!!! You could probably get an amazing deal at the moment and the resale value is one of the best in the market. Good timing!!!!!!!! Conclusion: Good value, reliable, fun and incredibly versatile and useful.
* Yes fellow Jeepers are helpful...actually pretty helpful in general. Guess it just goes with the territory that this a vehicle for outgoing people. Makes sense I suppose.
