This is so sad...
So what if they have a baby in the back and are trying not to burn the poor child? I guess that makes me a posser as well? Maybe I should show you the mud inside my jeep. This thread is sad.....
This thread is cracking me up!
For me Jeep stands for freedom. This may have something to do with my fatherland (Netherlands) having been liberated from Nazi Germany's occupation and the Willys iconic part in it.
It seems to me that "It's a Jeep thing" should be allowed to stand for lots of different things for lots of different people. Each will enjoy their Jeeps in their own particular way. What's wrong with that?
Having issues with people's reaction to your particular brand of Jeeping may say more about you and your own issues rather than theirs.
In Europe, the powers that be are rail-roading the unsuspecting population into one way of thinking and behaviour during which our freedoms are being curtailed by ridiculous legislation on a daily basis. To me, the US is still THE country of hope, opportunity and freedom. Please don't shatter my illusion by posting crap like "my brand of Jeeping is superior over yours".
Thanks for reading!

I think with the Unlimited and the improved amenities of the JK in general there are a lot of people (non-Jeepers) buying them just as a cool SUV, with no intent on using them off-road, or even open air driving. While these new people are good in that they will boost sales and hopefully cement the longevity of the Wrangler, there will be these cases on occasion of people who don't get it. I wonder if the guy in the OP's story had a 2WD Unlimited? Ultimately I say to each their own, do what you want.
