What a run-around...
I would have them install the Mopar one at a later time instead of installing an aftermarket one. The Mopar one wil lbe covered by the 3/36 warranty at any Jeep dealership. If they install a different one you will have a real hard time getting some other dealership to honor any kind of warranty claim on it.
Waiting to hear if I can pick her up tonight, or if I'll have to spend one more night just dreaming...
You're on a roll today, Rubimon. WHEN I get it, I'll be sure to report on the remote start, etc.; oh - and there WILL be some pics ASAP, albeit of a Stock JK with a very happy-looking owner in or next to it...
That's good thinking, but I confirmed that this "Pursuit"-brand remote start is actually the same manufacturer that Mopar uses, and instead of the 3/36 warranty, they're giving me a lifetime warranty with this one... so I'm set there. Plus, my dealership is claiming that this remote start they're installing is actually better quality, and has a longer range, too. We'll see - I have NO reason to trust them, but a lifetime warranty is a nice feature, even if the remote start is a POS (and you'd better bet that I get something in writing about that warranty!)
But remember it's only a lifetime warranty if you bring it back to THEM. No other Jeep dealer is going to touch an non-Mopar brand item as a warranty claim.
OK - not going to happen tonight - and they couldn't tell me that on their own - I had to call to follow up. This dealership is totally lacking any semblance of customer service... should have it tomorrow night, according to my not-to-be-trusted salesman, so we'll see. After all this time, I guess I can wait ONE more night.
Not saying that it is, but make sure you know what they are offering you in exchange before agreeing, and as others have noted....a lifetime warranty from a dealer who you don't trust, and where other dealers will not "honor" the warranty is not much of a bargain in my mind.
I expect to see one of those pictures with you jumping in the air kicking you heels together. I would show you what I mean but I might pull something!
PS I am on a roll everyday, some of it just seems to get overlooked!

I'm praying that your signature line is the truth, and that it's worth the wait - after 2 months of addiction to this board, the build-up has been something incredible... can the JK possibly measure up?
Can't wait to find out! Stay tuned - same bat time, same bat channel.
Regarding the remote starter, Area-51, my salesman gave me the impression that they "had something coming in tomorrow," so I may be ending up with the stock Mopar remote starter after all... or maybe some freebies. If "Pursuit" is the same manufacturer as Mopar's remote start, I think it'll be reasonably reliable. Plus, I'm pretty sure that the "lifetime warranty" isn't through the dealership - I believe it's offered from the manufacturer directly, so I should be set if I end up with the non-Mopar RS.
Finally, I'm hoping for some service credit or something for all the sh!t this dealership has put me through. That, and the fact that when I ordered the Dual Top Group option, I was told that I'd be getting the Sunrider soft-top (and not the standard soft-top) and the Freedom Top. Not that it's a HUGE deal (might as well just fold the whole thing down - it's a 2 door), but that should be worth some compensation. Again though, to quote myself for the umpteenth time, I'm not going to hold my breath...

You'll have an issue here or there, but they will be diminished by the amount of fun this Jeep will be, on or off the road.
Oh, and trim you finger nails before you pick it up so you don't scratch the interior!
I know the pose you have in mind... it's the "oh what a feeling" (or whatever) kind of ad campaign that Toyota ran in the 80's, right? I don't think my digital camera could capture that kind of motion, but maybe I'll photoshop something for you when that time comes.
If you don't get your Jeep tomorrow night, camp out at the dealership.
