Update: My dealership left me a mesage. Says they located my Jeep - it's stuck in Selkirk NY, and can't be loaded on the truck right now... they're not entirely sure why, but it's "probably because of the snow." They also added that it'll be at least 7 days from the time when it's loaded onto the truck until it gets to the dealership, but couldn't tell me when the vehicle WOULD be able to be loaded onto the truck... and they'll "keep me posted."

Well, I guess the good news is they found it and you will be the first owner.

LOL. I was actually considering calling them and asking that they waive the $600 (or whatever) "delivery fee" and I'll go up to Selkirk and get it myself - somehow don't think that they allow that sort of thing, though...

On top of all that, though, Selkirk NY to my neck of the woods in CT is maybe a 4 hour drive AT MOST... my WRX could probably make it in 2 hours or less without any interference from MA or NY's finest... so why in the world will it take 7 DAYS to get to the dealership once it's loaded on a truck? Is there a small mouse running on a treadmill powering this car carrier, or are they trying to tell me that the car carrier (which can hold like 8-10 vehicles?) is going to hit 8-10 different dealerships on the way, causing the delay? Just don't understand the inefficient way the car business is run, I guess. Oh well - I think I've expended my daily bitching allowance, so I'll leave it at that.

Another piece of advice. Make sure your wife is in the know on any mods you are tempted to sneak in there. If not, maybe learn how to sleep with one eye open! Dang!

OK folks - just got "the call" - my Jeep was just delivered today (contrast that against my last post from yesterday - went from "at least a week away" to "it's here" overnight). Of course, they don't have the Mopar remote start I ordered in stock, but are offering to make it right by installing a comparable or better one ("Pursuit" brand?) for the same price. HOPEFULLY (though I'm not holding my breath) I'll get to pick her up tonight!

On another, related note, it's funny timing, since I just sent the owner of the dealership a very nasty e-mail this morning.

I'll keep you all posted - getting my Jeep tonight won't forgive my dealership's piss-poor performance and service, but if they bust their *sses to get it ready for delivery tonight, I'll have to balance that against the run-around and lies... maybe they'll be able to keep a 1/2 star!

Thanks to all for following my story and for all the encouragement - it's appreciated. More to follow...

I would have them install the Mopar one at a later time instead of installing an aftermarket one. The Mopar one wil lbe covered by the 3/36 warranty at any Jeep dealership. If they install a different one you will have a real hard time getting some other dealership to honor any kind of warranty claim on it.
