Why the 2 door?
I chose 2 door for 2 reasons.
First, My dream vehicle is a CJ5, my uncle had one when I was young, and I fell in love with it.
Second reason, if a bunch of people want a ride I tell them they have to sit in the back, they usually find a different ride, thus saving me gas.
I really was comfortable with the longer wheel base, I owned a 2000 XJ for quite a few years, but when it came down to it cash was also a factor, the 2 door sports being cheaper made it possible to squeeze into my budget.

no offense to the four door people but..
back in the day henry ford said he had no use for an engine with more spark plugs than teats on a cow (way, way, back)
my personal pref is Ive got no use for a jeep that has more doors than I have balls!

I have read through all of the posts for the "why the unlimited" thread and can't help but think to myself why the 2 door?
I am not trying to be an a-hole as the original poster of the other thread wasn't, it is simply a valid question for me. It seems to me that all JK's are quite capable, so if you could have more room for family, friends and gear why wouldn't you buy the unlimited? On top of the room, it also tows more and I am sure will go through snow better. With all of this being said, are they that much better off road and going through tight spaces, or is it just that they were originally built as two doors, so they should never be changed?

I have no problem with the Unlimited, but I'm just not a fan of the stretched body. A good set of thirty-fives and a nice lift help balance things out a bit though.

Your avatar looks like there are no doors.
We have one kid - took a family vote after driving both. My kid said he liked the look of the two door better and did not mind climbing in and out of the back, my wife said she liked driving the two door more than the four door. I liked the two door better for a bunch of small reasons - I can easily turn around in a narrow space( the 4 door is good but not as good in this respect), have less area to wash/clean mud from inside and out, have room left over in the front of the garage bay, it looks better to me though I'm not big on buying for looks and best of all it reminds me of my CJ. We also have a Honda Ridgeline which can carry all kinds of people/cargo so space was not a big issue for us. If I had more than one kid, or it was my only vehicle, it would be a no brainer for the 4 door. ..but to me it's just not the same type of experience- to each his own.....
