Why the 2 door?
It is OK to refer to a driver of a JKU as a soccer mom, if it is being driven by a woman. When it is being driven by a man, it should be referred to as a "Man's Jeep!". All the others are more suited for Leprechauns.

I just don't like the way a four door looks. Sorry. It's a matter of personal preference. I'm not saying it wrong. Most people also refer to the Liberty as a 'girl's Jeep', but I don't see it that way.
I'm certainly not going to argue with anyone with what I think. We're all entitled to our opinions. Besides, I have more productive things to do with my time.

I love my 2 door, but when I have it payed off I'm really thinking of getting a 4 door. They both look great when the right mods are done, but the room of the 4 door is very appealing. And if I could have a 4 door that looks like some on this forum do I'd be more than happy. But with just a modest budget boost and 33's a 2 door can look really great, and I love that about them...
1. cost less
2. 95% of the time - i'm driving solo (i have a honda pilot to tote the fam around)
3. prefer the looks over a 4dr (when closer to stock... i am not planning for extreme mods)
4a. weight (slightly lighter than 4dr)
4b. presumed that weight would affect gas mileage (I drive 60M/day)
4c. presumed presumed weight would affect engine performance (ie. a door would "feel" more powerful than a heavier 4dr)
5. live in the east coast where trails are tighter
6. to get a 4dr to where i think i'd be happy, i'd have to put 37+ and related costs (sleeved & gusset, 4+" lift, drive shafts, etc...)... with a 2dr, i can put on 35's and a 2 1/2" lift, and skip the other stuff i just mentioned, and be happy with the looks/performance...
having said the above, if money was not a factor, i would rather build up a 4dr with 37+ & put in a hemi

I think 2 Dr's are a personal vehicle like they have been for 65 yrs. It's not the family car like the 2WD 4Dr's can be. I see it every day, Sockers moms at Starbucks after the game, the Top pulled back & the DVD Players in the Back of the Ft Headrest. Or, the Dad gets lucky & is allowed to get the 4x4 model with big tires...woo...hooo! Sorry for being hard on the 4 Dr's but here in the city of millions the whole Jeep heritage is lost in the parking lots at the mall. I'm sure in Denver the 4 Dr for the family would make more sense, but I'm not, & all I see are Jeeps with Street Tires.
I'm suprised by all the 4 door hate here. It seems to me that just about every other serious 4X4 worldwide had a 2 door and 4 door version... Who would argue that a Defender 110 wasn't a real Land Rover because it had 4 doors?
I'm glad Jeep finally did it, though they were about 50 years late.

i love my 2 door but it would be nice to have more room sometimes and stability over some rock ( not having to have 5 people counter weight it) i agree though that on an unlimited i would have to get a bigger lift and bigger tires than on a 2 door.
