Why the 2 door?
Kudos to Jeep in 2007 for introducing the 4-door. This opened the door to a new market, those who wanted a Jeep, but needed the 4 door, for reason such as families, more space ect...Why buy a 4 door SUV when you can but a 4 door Wrangler. HELLO! This boosts the brand awareness, and drives more aftermarket parts ect.....
Our first Jeep was the 4-door, for many of the reason other posts have said.
Thank you to Jeep for the 4-door and my lovely wife who wanted a Jeep since she was 10, we are proud owners of our very own.
This made me realize what 'The Jeep Thing' is all about.....thus I'm on the look out for a 2-door JK of my own. 2 or 4 door, they are all Jeeps, and I dig every one equally

I bought a 2 door because...
1.) Everything I have fits in a few suit cases, those suit cases fit in a Wrangler, and that fits my life.
2.) My Grandfather worked on Jeeps in WWII (Under Patton) as a Tech Sgt. and later on in life for the USPS in Evansville, IN. Infact, he solved a mechanical issue with their Jeep fleet, made the papers. (Gotta go dig that up now that I think about it). In WWII, he said if he couldn't fix it in time and the enemy was advancing, they would rig them with explosives and blow it up. His stories made me want a Jeep.
3.) I owned a 1989 Cherokee Sport, which was awesome, but not a Wrangler. Kept Thirst'n
4.) I owned a 2008 Jeep Patriot. I took it around the country for two years, did well, until I went on a trail in WY. It was roomy, which lead to me packing way to much stuff!
5.) I decided I only wanted to take as many as 3 suit cases on my trips ( I live on the road). I went to the dealer, picked a two door, and everything fit perfectly in the back with the seat flipped up. The 4 door I looked at was a stick. Drove sticks most of my life, sick of stick. Traffic jams suck while driving a stick. It would only allow me to pack more crap I didn't need. It had 4 doors...
6.) All my friends and family say, "Real Jeeps are 2 doors."
7.) It was a used 2010 Sport and I could pay it off in two years.
8.) Real Jeeps are 2 doors. There, I say it now too ;-)
9.) I'm single, but even if I wasn't, I'd get a 2 door. I'd never knock another's 4 door, but they're not for me.
10.) Only three things cause me to stop dead in my tracks: A Plane flying over head (I love flying), A sexy woman, and a 2 door Jeep. I'd say a heart attack, but I think I'd keep fighting on.
I've been aware of Jeep all my life. I didn't need a model to raise my awareness. Jeep is one of the most recognizable things in the world, up there with coke, mickey mouse, and santa claus. I'm glad more people can now enjoy Jeeps cuz of 4 doors. If I had to choose between a mini van, a SUV that looks like the rest of them, or a 4 door Jeep, then maybe I'd get a 4 door...

I'm single as well, but the 2 door was never even a consideration for me. So much easier for firends/family to get in the backseat of a 4 dr, I can sleep in the back whilst camping, of course haul more gear, etc. Was willing to give that up in exchange for the 3 trails I may come across in my lifetime where I cant turn as easily as the 2 dr.
I also get a kick out of the "Real Jeep" thing...as I said in another post concerning the "Real Men" who dont have power windows - youre not impressing anybody at all with your macho posturing. Not even a little. As I also said - unless youre sitting on a fold up metal chair in your living room (recliners and couches are for sissy boys!) you must turn in your Man Card IMMEDIATELY. Unless your driving a Jeep from the 40s or 50s - you best keep your chest-thumping to yourself, cause it makes you sound like youre compensating for some other inadequacies.
While I didnt get a 2 door, I love em, so dont get me wrong, but this elitist attitude is a joke. You want a 2 dr-get one. You want a 4 dr-get one. Driving either one doesnt make you better than anybody else.

For me, I had a 4dr and had someone in the backseat about 10 total times in 2 yrs. So I gave the 4dr to the wife and traded her Mercury Mariner in for a Yellow 2dr X. So far I love it and she loves the 4dr. It really makes me laugh when I have a family get together, we have our 2 JK's, my brother's greystone 4dr JK and my mother in laws RHD 4dr JK and if my cousin comes he has a 4dr Moutain. Makes people slow down and stare when they drive by..lol. I can say that I started the disease with buying the first one and we all take them off road. Good times
