I said "traditional" ... not "classic" ... you are describing a classic Jeep.

Besides 2-doors ... I have soft top, manual transmission and half doors ...

That sounds pretty traditional to me ...

If you want a "traditional" Jeep, you would have to get one with no computer, no coils, no disc brakes, no ESP, no BLD, no electronic lockers, no electronic discos, no power windows, no radio, designation as a CJ, it would be a hell of a lot smaller than our 2 door JK, etc........
Where exactly does the Traditional thing stop? Is it a traditional Jeep just because it has 2 doors? If that were the case they could have called a full size cherokee or the smaller 2 door cherokee a traditional jeep. In fact they technically should not have any doors to be "traditional".
Sure the round headlights and the way the grill looks is essential, but even then, where did the 9 slot grill of the war era jeeps go? Why can't I turn my headlights all the way around and direct them into the engine compartment to work on the engine if needed? The first year it was available to the public it was all gone, oops, there you are, none of them are traditional. A 2 door is "traditional" is such flawed logic.
The 4 door can lay claim to jeep tradition just as much as our 2 door can by being just as capable. The jeep tradition is it's mountain goat like ability offroad, not how long it is or how many doors it has, if that were the case, the traditional jeep died LONG AGO.
The jeep tradition is its ability offroad and its ability to bring like minded people together as a community of jeepers.
Well my soapbox is starting to break under me so I shall step down from it.

If anything the 2 door SHOULD be called the "classic style", the offroad ability is jeeps tradition, not the way they look for the most part.
Oh well, it's possible to look at tradition and traditional in more ways than one. I just think the 4-door jeeps are just as traditional as the 2 door in their own way. It's just my opinion, not knocking what someone else wants to think.

[QUOTE=Red Wings;1914103]Retard? Maybe do some reading through this thread, apparently some of "us" have a hard time with the difference.

I'd like to ask you one thing. Are you REALLY that f*cking blind that you can't see that the 4 door has similarities to a H3? I will walk you through this one. Same number of slots in front grill. Same circular head lights. Same shape mirrors. Same Boxy shape body. Same Boxy windows. Same number of doors. Same door handles. I got a Jeep Accessories magazine in the mail 3 and a half months ago that had a stick on H2/H3 hood vent. Explain that. it has a picture of a Red JK with a fake H3 hood vent next to the ad.

GM did that on purpose to try and steal buyers from Jeep/Chrysler. Typical marketing scheme thats all. I still think that a hard top JK looks like a mini hummer but oh well. Just wish I was able to get mine with a soft top and half doors not I have to go through the trouble of getting the top and doors. Before you ask it was the last one in the inventory with the Jeep green and options I wanted in the 09 year with the dealer I was working with, got it for cheaper too.

The H3 came out two years before the JK did. Coming from a person that has driven a H3, visibility is a lot better with the bigger windows on the JK.

I believe you were the one that said that the general public had problems telling the difference between the two and not people on this site and now you are telling me that you see all of these similarities. I wonder who the retard really is.

Also, I believe that this is the first year for the color matching top, so the picture you posted of the Sahara with the white top isn't how the two should be compared since all JK's that were produced at the same time the Hummer was produced would have had a different color top. But hey, I am the one that is blind.

I'm just trying to make the point that many people, public and yep even on this forum have made. I think it's kinda funny how you can be a big enough dick head to say "And if you can't tell the difference between the Unlimited and a Hummer then maybe you shouldn't be driving period" when there are so many similarities that most can agree on. Your argument is that this is the first year the top is being painted? Then explain the similar shape if you can't see past a colored top. Pretty sure it sounds like you are blind, or maybe just bummed that there is a larger majority that seems to agree with me. Read a few other threads bub, then kindly F*ck off.

Wow, someone seems to be upset that they can't keep their stories staight.
Why don't you make up your mind if you think the 4 door is a hummer or not and then maybe we can have an intelligent conversation about the matter. On second thought that probably won't be possible with someone that can't even come close to spelling chauffer and has to resort to using profanity to make a point.

Sorry to everyone for mucking up this thread.

i am all for traditional too. Advances in technology (brakes, airbag, electronics, etc) does not need to mean, "hey, lets redesign everything from the ground up". For example, doing away with flat metal fenders in the JK is clearly a cost saving strategy. Another example is the interior dash redo for 2011. is the 4 year old interior of the JK really that out dated?

Personally, i do not dig the 4dr. But if I won one in a lottery, i would surely become a fan. After all, it IS a Jeep, right?
