WTF Quadratec? Everything backordered.
I've gotten lots of my mods from Amazon and eBay (about 80% of them actually) without any issues. My lift, my winch, my bumpers, some of my lights and etc. The other 20% were from Jeep sites like Quadratec and others (that I will get in trouble mentioning, so I won't).
But I always start at Amazon and eBay for two reasons: good deals (with free shipping) and probably the biggest reason: Knowing its in stock.
I just really dislike it when a site advertises like everything is available only to tell you afterwards that something is on back order with no ETA. If the two aforementioned sites can inform you about availability, I have a lot of trouble understanding why so many Jeep vendors can't. It's not good business. And very 20th century.

Got my order from 4wd .com today. Had no idea where it was. Never sent me the tracking number. But it did show up 7 business days later. Direct from the manufacturer I assume.
Why is it so hard to package an item carefully? Everything was spilling out almost returned it on the spot.

And then the parts were gouging into other parts. Took pics as soon as I opened the box. Gouged parts and missing hardware.

Now I am waiting on hardware from Kargo Master.
Guess it's time to try Quadratec. Thanks for the advice on here to talk to them over the phone first.
Surprised they don't have codes for free shipping. Business must be going good for them.

Thanks for the advice on chatting with the reps first before ordering. I've ordered from Quadratec several times and have always been happy with the speed in delivery but chatting with them before placing the order sounds like a good way to avoid being disappointed.

Quadratec did at least keep me up to date on my back ordered items and sent me an e-mail ship notification when I ordered from them. The ship notification is a simple and FREE application from UPS that automatically sends the e-mail. I don't understand why 4wd.com and other vendors don't use this to keep from getting so many phone calls.

If we were talking about a restaurant, and a special of the day that they were now out of the difference would be:
Company A - when you show up, there is no longer any mention of the special. The waiter tells you up front that it is out, apologizes, and tells you when it will be back in - asks you if there is anything else you might want, and points you to other places where you can find the special of the day.
Company Q - when you show up, there is a flashing sign advertising their special of the day. The waiter talks it up, and you order it. He takes your payment information up front, and goes into the kitchen. After you have been waiting for two hours, you ask the waiter to come over and you inquire when your dish will be ready. He checks, and says it isn't done yet but will be soon. "How soon?" you ask. He replies he has absolutely no idea.

People order products because they want them. (Go figure) Even if designing the website to show stock is too difficult, a quick email notifying you the product is backordered and the ETA is the least anyone can ask for.
4wd.com has terrible customer service. I understand about stuff being back ordered and I don't care to wait for what I want. However 4wd.com didn't give me any notice that what I ordered was back ordered. I had to call to inquire about my order and asked them why they couldn't have just sent an e-mail with an update on my order. I was basically told they didn't have time to bother with it.

Finally after another 3 weeks of waiting I called and talked to a lady there who at least was honest and told me that the wheels had been back ordered for months and they had no ETA of when they would be receiving them and had no idea why they had been giving me ETA's as there was none known. I cancelled my order and then had to wait 2 weeks for them to credit my card back. Imagine they bill just 10 people $1000.00 per month for something they don't have in stock. Think of the interest they collect off of those 10 people per month until said customers finally cancel their orders.
Finally I bought through Tire Rack and I have to say they gave me some of the best 1 on 1 customer service I have ever had and kept me informed of my whole order process from beginning to end through email.
Just got my order tonight. Ups delivered it, and I was hit with an additional $46 fee, import fees, and duty fees. Quadratech really needs to put a disclaimer on their site, saying it will;
1. Take longer to deliver items to Canada.
2. There will be additional charges to import said items.
UPS is the culprit for the extra charges (in addition to the $99 delivery fee). Alas, this is the first and last time I purchase anything from Quadratech. Too many issues for me to overlook.

Always had good experiences with Quadratec....key is to call before placing order....would be cool if they published availability on line....they publish us a nice catalog, so I give them first shot....they are semi local and stuff shows up in 1 or 2 days.
I just placed my first order with this company and was a little put off when the confirming email said both the items were backordered. Then today I got another email that said at least one item had shipped.
