Centerforce Clutch Install Write-Up
Well I got it in, although it was a pretty tuff chore. I don't remember if it was this post or not, but someone said it was a 10hour job. B.S. It was more like a 20hour job. Maybe I'm just a little slower.... Thanks again for the write-up I can't tell you how many times I referenced it. Everything seems to be working fine, I'm just trying to get used to the new clutch. Is it normal for it to feel really light?
Glad it is done. It took me several days working a few hours at a time. Definitely more than 10 hours. I had a buddy do his right after mine and they got it done in a long day. The Centerforce clutch feels totally different than the OE. It takes some getting used to, but its a quick transition.
Quick update: I went out after having the jeep parked all weekend and the clutch pedal went straight to the floor and it wouldn't go into gear. Crawled underneath and saw fluid from the slave cylinder. Ordered a new one and put it in tonight. The swap was quick, bleeding it was a pita.
Here's a pic of the old one. Looks like I sliced the boot removing or reinstalling it and it eventually gave out.

I was studying your write-up while waiting on parts delivery and questioned step 4. It mentions needing to remove the front yoke using a gear puller, simply to access the t-case linkage. Really?
Perhaps not totally necessary, but I couldn't get a hand around to disconnect everything above. It is also not necessary to drain all of the fluids, but I did and replaced them at 9K so I didn't have to worry about anything for a long while.
Thanks for the update. I'm already planning to change the fluids, but I had seen the Advanced Adapters JKCable Shift Linkage Upgrade Kit instructions as well as another JK Clutch Replacement write-up on *******s by NascarRubicon, neither of which mentioned it.
Thanks for the help!
Thanks for the help!
I didn't need the puller after all. It must be different on the Rubicon. Everything is apart now, but those top two bolts were a pain to remove. I eventually found that with 18" of extension, I could use a ratchet thru the shifter opening and broke them loose from inside the jeep. Tomorrow is reassembly.
