You just need to remember, you only get one shot at cutting the holes, so make sure your measurements are close. I measured and re-measured probably 5 times before I made the cuts....

I notice it is not in the guide how to turn the fuse box battery sideways. How is this achieved?

Dirtman designed a battery tray that turns the fuse box and the battery.. i think thats how he did it.

How was it achieved for this write up?

Did the intake have any effects on hp/mpg?

im not sure exactly what you mean.. but.. the battery tray that dirtman designs has a bracket that mounts to the inside of the jeep. it allows the battery and fuse box to be turned.. and changing its position opens up space for the filters and what not. I am not sure about the mpgs. when dirtman designed the snorkel it was more for keeping water out of the intake and not about improving mpgs.

For the build depicted in this thread was that custom tray used?

Does he sell them?

As already stated, I installed a custom battery/fuse box tray. It was fabricated by dirtman. This allows you to turn the battery vertical along with the fuse box so you have space to run the 16" aluminum pipe to the airbox (if u choose to use it). The fuse box mount, is constructed of 2 brackets that allows the fuse box itself to slide down on them, securing it in place. If you look at your fuse box, the backside has to slits in it used for securing. As for MPG, it really depends on your driving. When I had the cone filter on, my average mpg was 15-15.5 for city and 18-19.5 on highway. I did notice that I gained 1-1.5 mpg after putting on the pre-cleaner.

I think I posted this in the write-up, but if anyone is interested in doing this that is fairly local (within a couple hours), I and karls10jk will be more than happy to come lend a hand. I will also give out my number or answer any questions anyone has during the install if need be...
