what branch of the military are you in? i know there are a few stations up near chicago.. which is only 2 horus from us.. and theres always jeepers coming down from up there to wheel at the badlands so you can always convoy.

The wife and I are both in the Army. She is changing her MOS (job), so we will be moving in the march timeframe. I don't mind to much, being there is not much in the way of wheeling here...

Keep me updated when you find out where you are going, especially if its around here. I can fill you in on the good wheeling spots.

Indeed my friend.... I've seen photos of the badlands runs and am quite envious and intrigued....

I love this! Fantastic work! I didn't love the look at first with the air raid filter but once you put the top spin on I fell in love.

Out of curiousity, what would you rate the difficulty level on an install like this from 1-10? Do you think it is too much for an avid do-it-yourselfer? I installed my lift/winch/bumper and whatnot on my own and am a carpenter by trade. Never was too thrilled about anything with cutting holes in body panels but this is fantastic compared to $500 for a huge snorkel.

I do not want to undertake this project if it requires specialty skills that could cost me a $1000 if I screw up lol.

I dont consider myself automotively inclined at all and ive seen this done and it looks like a piece of cake. The hardest part seemed to be drilling through the firewall. it has 3 layers that apparently can get kinda sticky. If you are carpentry savy like you say you are.. id bet youd have no problem. i would just make sure you have all the parts you need before you start.

X2.... It's not very difficult, just takes time and patience. The measurements are the key factors involved. If you do not have another JK next to you, either number or color code your fuse box connectors. I did the entire install with parts and materials for $215 I believe. It def helps to have a friend lending a hand. I honestly think my winch was more difficult than the snorkel. The snorkel is just time consuming and meticulous work.... I would def do it again...
