DIY: The Jeep Wave.
My dad bought a brand new CJ7 in 84 and the first time I saw him wave, I asked why? And like every good jeeper dad, he explained the jeep wave to me. When I bought my JK, I had the same conversation with my boys. In my family, the wave lives on.
I wave to every Jeep I see, though sometimes I miss one. Get just as many from stock as I do modded. Get snubbed equally on both sides as well. My greatest success though was constantly waving to a 50ish women I would pass several times a day. Finally after about 2 months, she waved back. Almost brought a tear to my eye.

Wow! Never saw this thread before, but thank you! It seems that many are not aware of the "jeep wave." the wave isn't dead if you keep it alive! There are far to many jeeps that do not wave. Let's keep it alive!
To start, I am a bit of a hypocrite as I only initiate the wave to Wrangler driver. But in my defense if any driver waves to me I will wave back. Now as to the Toyota driver who decided to spend less and get a jeep and then come onto a jeep lover site and troll around, sell the jeep and go with the vehicle that suits you. I have been waving to jeep drivers here in Utah for 4 years without a lot of response, the soccer moms and people that are only “daily drivers” still get a wave. It is not the more money you spend on a Jeep the more you deserve a wave, a Jeep is a JEEP end of story. People don’t get a jeep because it is a ford, chev, dodge [well kinda is] they get it because it is a jeep. Here in Utah from my experience a jeep of any kind does better in the snow then most. I have a much longer story for prof of that. I was a YJ driver [not considered a jeep because of the square headlights] now I drive a JK-U [not considered a real jeep because of 4 doors] and in both I have been wheeling and loved it.

*Waves to all of you*
I love it when I get a Jeep wave from fellow Jeepers. I wave to all Jeeps regardless of year, mods, 2 doors, 4 doors, no doors. A Jeep is a Jeep. However, with that said, I just recently traded my TJ in for a JK and for some odd reason I get less waves in the new Jeep than I did in my TJ. I still wave on... and eventually those that choose not to wave to my JK will realize it too is still a Jeep lol! (I've been told its because i'm a girl in a JK and I have to admit... sometimes I want to yank those girls out of their Jeeps when they don't wave because I know they only bought that Jeep because they thought it was "cute" and give the rest of us a bad rap. LOL)
