It is not quickly but it is easy only unplug two wires and disconnect two nuts.

i've been studying the write ups more then i studied in college.

I hope that your install goes well and I am glad that this write-up has given you some study material!!!
I asked about that part number when I did my install and was told that it is a discontinued part??? The ammo can is on mu jeep and I am not sure what size it is but I just drove to the army surplus store and grabbed a few of them. the guy let me carry them all out to the jeep and pick the one I wanted. I gut a small slit in the bottom of the can so that it would hold onto the carrier like the fuel can does.

I have spent the last 2 hours reading all the threads on this carrier. It looks like this will be my next purchase. I wanted a LoD tire carrier, but this seems to be a much better option.
Thanks for all the write ups

Looks like a good alternative to buying a whole bumper/tire carrier setup. It kinda scares me though with all the drilling and stuff. I might rather pay the extra 200 for the Smitty XRC.

So you can leave your stock 3rd brake light and let it simply shine through the spokes? I like that.

OH, BTW, nice cupholders in the bumper!

You probably could, but then you couldn't put cans on the carrier. I cut my light off and bolted it to the center upright on the carrier. Free mods are the best.

Yeah, they've held up really well, and don't come out any. I got the idea from evanyj350, who got it from the Chevy Avalanche guys. Works great. Sometimes you find bottles there after driving places.
