Not sure what or when this happened. Just changing the oil after break in and i guess i really broke it in. I was gonna take it on its first wheeling trip tomorrow but i guess ill take my XJ. Not to sure how much success ill have with warranty.
Hate when that happens. I assume that's the front diff? I'm not an expert but I would think if you had carrier preload right, and everything was in spec....you might be looking at manufacturing defect.

I kept the front carrier as well as bearings SO i kept the same amount of total shim and just reset back lash. Had to drive the shim stack in with a brass punch and hammer, like every other diff ive set up. In the past year ive probably done 10-12 gear sets, this is the first time ive chipped a tooth. Both gear sets in my XJ lived through Moab. If it is a defect im out of warranty, Yukon only offers warranty for 1 year after purchess, ive sat on the gears for well over a year, no time for the JK, had to prep the XJ for Moab. Ill talk to my supplier and see whats up.

Yeah that sucks. Hopefully they can help you out, maybe if you show them the pics of your mesh pattern (if theyll even take the time to look) they'll give you a new set or at least a discount.

Just a note that the formula for appropriate gear ratio is remiss of stating it is for a 1:1 transmission ratio. So for a vehicle with an overdrive gear you would need to divide the result by the overdrive transmission gear ratio.

Tried to figure out what ratio I have on my '11 Sahara.

I did jack-up the left rear wheel only, so the right wheel wasn't spinning.
I've counted almost 37.5 turns of the driveshaft after 20 full rotations of the wheel.

So now I wanna know if I did it right and my gear ratio is 3.73!?

Thanks anybody

Do you believe I have my rear end torn apart to do my gears and it appears I received the wrong master install kit from JeepAddons! Uggggg. Anyone have the correct master install kit # for a Motive Gear for a 2007 unlimited 4dr dana44 rear?
