I am about to go from 3.73 to 4.88 in my 2014 Sahara JKU. It is an automatic Do I need to have the computer reprogrammed for the new gear ratio before I drive it?

Yes. Get an AEV Procal module. Its very simple

I have a question, I have 3.21 in my jeep jku. I'm trying to regear in the near future. I want to go 4.10 or even 4.88. I want to know if I can just get a ring and pinion set for front and back or will new axles and etc have to be replaced with the new gearing. Thanks ahead of time btw it's a 2015 jk with 3" teraflex lift and 35s

4.10 or 4.56. Personally I would say 4.10 would be perfect if you do lots of highway. And you just need new ring and pinion. And you will need new carriers to. You should upgrade and put a locker in the back at the same time no extra labour to install

Yea I definitely want to put a locker with whatever I put. 4.10 sounds good I do do highways a lot. Do you know any good companies to run with? Thanks

If you're running 35" tires, you might consider 4.56 again.

I would recommend talking to Northridge 4x4. They carry all of the major brands and can give you good advice.

If you don't wheel on rocks, and have absolutely no intention to, then I would suggest Detroit TruTracs for lockers - technically a limited slip differential. And since you are regearing, the added cost of adding a TruTrac is basically the cost of the locker.

If you wheel on rocks, give a selectable locker some consideration, but they are quite more expensive. Especially the pneumatically operated brands such as ARB.

Thanks I don't do any wheeling on rocks it's a daily driver but I do play in the mud. Snow as of lately lol. I will check them out

A great locker Detroit true trac. Smooth posi on the road but locks up 50 50 to each tire. No clutches and they last forever

Make sure you're looking at a TruTrac. They don't use clutch packs like the others, so no parts to where out. The TruTrac uses helical gears which are far more reliable.
