I will definitely have to build this when I get mine. I will have to measure but I wonder if it can work for the JK top and for a TJ top??

Going to have to build one of these my next days off. Great idea better than doing squats to pick it up off of the boards I had to lay on the ground.

I have a new jk willy 14, took the tops of for the first time and now the t tops don't align with the hard top. The jeep dealer tells me this is "normal", is this normal?

Nope, not normal at all. If your freedom panels are not aligning right, it's most likely the weather gasket keeping it from lining up. Take the panels off and then put them in while paying attention to the rubber. I had that issue with my 2012 4door and found that I was punching my weather stripping on the top.

and here i was thinking ill never be able to go topless without a garage to put a hoist in to take the top off!

this nice sturdy lookin table design with extras like carpet top and tie down hooks is great, now i can ponder getting a soft top next year and know that ill have a secure place to put the hard top!

Nice info. I'm able to remove the hardtop alone on my JKU. It helps being 6'8" 240lbs though

its got several inches of clearance around the top when its set on it centered.... you can literally measure your hard tops inner walls side to side and just make that your center line on a 2x8 and you are golden, height would be based on the distance from the base of your top to the ground for ease of use.

I built this this weekend. I havent' finished putting the tops on the table yet though and am slightly concerned at the amount of twist/flex. WIll it stiffen up once the 2x12 tops are all secured?

With my Gobi rack I was thinking of a way to take my top off with out having the ceiling height to flip up the rack in the garage. I think I could just take the ladder off and slide the top out the back.
