Well We have had these installed for 8 months now and now that's it's getting colder I love them even more! I have not had one single issue with these and I will agree that on the highest setting they can be way too hot! I almost run mine on the lowest setting all the time! The wife on the other hand uses hers on the highest setting all the time. One of the nicest things is that they get hot way before the heater starts blowing hot air out. In 2 minutes I am nice and warm.....

So whpony, did you install them, or get the dealer to?
I'm looking for feedback about the work they will do.

I would like to install them myself so that i have control over what the switched look like, and where they go, BUT I may end up letting the dealer do it. I won a draw at the dealer when I bought it but it is only good for things they install. So maybe I will have to start a thread asking what I should spend the voucher on, and install these myself.

Question other mounting location?

thank you for the great write-up! super thorough.

just a general Q:

any ideas on alternate mounting locations for the switches?

just saw http://www.quadratec.com/products/12500_231.htm and might want to go this route for aux lighting but still want to have heated seats.

ideers?

People with the Daystar panel usually end up putting it right in the little change dish thing right in front of that, the space is visible in the photo on the quadratec link. It might not be a change dish, but that's what it's usually used for in my JK.

I just ordered Katzkins, so I'm ordering the heated seat kit as well., this write up makes it look like something even I can tackle.

This is a great write-up. With the winter going into full swing, this will hit close to home for many. I have been looking at heated seat covers on Amazon, but I didn't realize there was a set from Mopar. I am left debating whether I can justify the price. We don't get too cold for too long, but when it hits, a frozen butt can ruin your day. Once again, great job and enjoy.

Check this post out https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/jk-write-ups-39/rear-heated-seats-toasty-buns-19569/

I have had mine for about a year now. I mounted my switches by the gear shift and cup holders (see photo a few pages back). I would highly recomend putting your switch in this location as it is much easier to get to than having to reach past the shifter.

These took me most of an afternoon to install. Takes a little longer if you want to install the switches in the console as then you have to pull that apart too.

Was there any issue of the factory harness not fitting into the power supply because you mounted in the console?I have the kit and plan to install in 2 weeks. I like your setup bettre the the jeep design, but do not feel like having to splice wires.

Thanks

homer
No splicing was required
