bought my 2x6, 19/32 OSB and some hinges tonight. I've got them rough sawn and will hopefully have something to look at tomorrow.

can you get the dimensions of the cover? Is it the same width as the frame? What about the folding pieces? Can you take a picture and use Paint to label measurments? I have a lid rough cut which fits snug, but is different from your measurments. I have a width of about 42.5" for the tub width. I would need to take about 1/2 off for clearance and carpeting. So I was looking at cutting 42"wide. Then not sure about how long to make lid. I would like it to but right up about a 1/2 from the door so I could take a piece of 2" angle aluminum and have it got over the lid locking it in place when door is shut. I'm hoping to be able to wingnut it to the door.

Ok finished up most of it tonight. Have one more mod I'm going to do before calling it complete. Easiest part is framing up the bottom. I actually used brackets to be sure it stay's square. They were like $1.50 each. Next came the top panels. Cut first lid to match curve of door.

Next cut the folding panel. I didn't seporate the sides because I'm never going to put just one side down. When cutting this part out I had to go to 29" because otherwise it would hit the rollbar when trying to fold open. Even at 29" I had to radius the edges of the panel to get them to fit. They are still snug.

Mount hinges. I used door hinges. On the 5/8 OSB even my 240lbs couldn't budge the wood . You also get a look at the support board tucked away.

Storage area easily fit shopping bags back there when out with the wife. Now I don't have to haul all my bags inside to go xmas shopping.

Window storage as well! I haven't tried, but I think the back window will fit between the seat and the back of the storage area.

Default Sub?

I started mine as well... Using 2x6 for deeper storage.. I removed the back seat and the rear carpet then truck bed spray liner the floor just to side edges and bottom part of slope under rear seat. going to make a seperat "cabinet" that is removable to replace the rear seats for more storage and sleeping on. Also if you slide the front seats forward and lean the back part forward you get a ton more room. So with that said I will add a hinged piece of wood to fold towards front seats to gain probably 8". Every this will be carpeted too...Me and girlfriend going to be camping in this for over a week so i want as much room as I can get.. Will post pcs of rear. Only one problem.... dont want to get rid of sub any solutions??

People have moved the sub to the top of the wheel house.

Thanks for writing this out. I have been looking to do something like this for a flat sleeping surface and to stop the dogs slipping into the crack between the seats.

Any details on the sub under the passenger seat? One of the next projects on my list.
