what was your issue? You usually need to pray it off with a small blade of some sort, the RTV holds it on rather well even without the bolts.

I understand that your BASIC warranty expires at 3yr/36k. BUT...the POWERTRAIN warranty goes to 50-60-70 thousand miles depending on your year model. The Water Pump is a Powertrain item. A Deductable may apply.

Just replaced my water pump today. Only hassle is draining the radiator. Other than that quick and easy job. The Jeep dealer wanted over 400 to do it. Total cost for me was less than 75 bucks and some of my time.

nice write up im doing mine today as well as the egr valve and the intake gasket.

Just noticed a small stain of coolant coming from mine.

I have an '08 with the lifetime powertrain warranty. I've read in this thread that some folks have had theirs covered under this warranty. Can anyone confirm that this IS a powertrain item covered under the warranty?

From the '08 Warranty Booklet:

Gasoline Engine: cylinder block and all internal
parts; cylinder head assemblies; timing case, timing
chain, timing belt, gears and sprockets; vibration
damper; oil pump; water pump and housing; intake
and exhaust manifolds; flywheel with starter ring
gear; core plugs; valve covers; oil pan; turbocharger
housing and internal parts; turbocharger wastegate
actuator; supercharger; serpentine belt tensioner;
seals and gaskets for listed components only.

Default Waterpump pulley removal - How do I remove it?

I can't seem to break the waterpump pulley free. Any advice on how to remove it?

Pb blaster then tap it with a hammer pop right off. I had the same problem.
