How about we depart the Denny's in Midwest City at 5:00 a.m.? Mapquest says it's a 3 hour, 15 minute drive, so that gives us 15 minutes extra to get there (probably need a stop at the MacDonald's on Indian Nations Turnpike for me to pee). I will be at the Denny's at 4:30 a.m. to eat and welcome anyone to join me. It's located at the northeast corner of where Douglas Boulevard crosses I-40. Douglas Boulevard is the street that runs north-south along the eastern boundary of Tinker Air Force Base, so you exit just past where the Falcone's we met at a couple weeks back. You can't miss the Denny's sign when headed east on I-40 past Tinker.

So, who's meeting and at what time?

Oh, and I will probably carry a little camping gear, just in case, but plan to head back Saturday before it gets too late. I don't plan to stay for a night run. I'm thinking of heading up to Skyline Drive in the early afternoon, have some late lunch, then head down the drive and back to OKC. For anyone who would like to camp, there are quite a few options. If you can backpack, then just pull off into one of the viewpoints and hike on over to the Ouachita Trail. It's about 1/4-mile south from Panorama Vista, and about another 1/4-mile west along the trail is a primitive campsite. But, this entire section of trail is open for free range camping. Or, Talimena State Park at the west end of the trail is nice, and has showers, etc. I don't think that they'll mind that you're only 18, Vamp1re.

Are you all bringing food for cooking at campfire? How much is the entry fee to the trails?

I can meet up with you... I'll do my best to be there by 5... It looks like it's about a 1hr 48min drive from my place to the Denny's... So I'll have to head out of here by 3am or close to make it there before 5. As long as no one minds the zombified family . But yeah, I'll be there I'll have to remember to look up that Denny's address and stick it in the GPS - OKC loses me everytime when I deviate from the couple of places I go to

Not certain on that, but I think I read somewhere that it was $25? Maybe someone that's been there might know.

I was just going to carry a sack lunch, Jeff. Otherwise, I'll eat at the Denny's in the morning, and at the Queen Wilhelmina for a late lunch.

Camping fees are only 10-15$. But we will have a few spots and there will be extra space to set up a few more tents if anyone needs it.

One of the members in the Jeep club mentioned that entry fees are $10.00

we paid $10/jeep last year. it's a real sophisticated system. there's an old gas pump (i believe) at the beginning of the trail that has a slot and you stick your $10 in there. honor system.
