Best thing to do is go to the dealership by yourself on a sunday when no one is working and look at all the colors and figure out which ones you like other than the black, and which ones you don't. That way when you go to make the decision if they happen to not have your first pick(which if I read correctly would be black) then you at least which colors you don't like and which others you do. At least that way you don't get convinced to drive away in a jeep that you hate.

Nah, unless they have a fence you have to climb over in order to get in but every time Ive gone to buy a vehicle thats what I've done. Its a good way to see what you like with out someone over your should saying you should get this or that.

I wanted black ! My buddy is a car detailer and said dude just trust me & count it out ! Lol I liked the bright colors like white & silver with everything else blacked out ! Buddies were saying white is plain & silver is too common ! ... Don't let people change your thoughts ! It's YOU who is gonna have to drop the money monthly & YOU who drives it ! I pickup up my '12 4dr Rubi auto after blowing the motor on my 07 and threw 35's on her right away. The diff in power is night and day. With the 4.10's I don't feel the need to regear unless you're going for crawling power only. I was forced to pick a new color since I had the jeep green and it wasn't an option this time around. Like you everyone was giving me their 50 cents on what I should get. I ended up with black but made the dealer take off the body matching top and fenders. Especially since I knew I'd be replacing them later with flat fenders. I love the black but I hear theres a dark green avail in the new year. Just ignore everyone and don't get into something you don't love right away. Cause just like relationships... It doesn't get better with age.

 

The 2012 JKs don't need nearly as much differential gear as the previous JKs. There is now little difference between a manual and an automatic in final gear ratio with a higher stall torque converter than on previous models.

With 3.73s or 4.10s you can run 35s and still have adequate power. For automatic owners make sure you buy a ProCal so your shift points are correct. It won't be any time soon that there will be a tuner available. One of the three things that determine shift points is the speedometer, so it's important to have it correct.

As for gears and tire sizes I built out a new chart for the Pentastar which can be found in the FAQ. For example, 4.56s which weren't even viable for an automatic and 37s, are now right in the sweet spot for performance/efficiency. Definitely pretty cool and long overdue.
