AEV Drop Bracket BS
I guess what I'm getting at is the AEV instructions say, "THIS INSTALLATION IS BEST PERFORMED WITH ALL FOUR WHEELS ON THE GROUND"? I don't necessarily have to tighten or retorque the control arm bolts to put this all back together, put the wheels on the ground, and THEN install the drop brackets? Did anyone install these drop brackets while the front end was apart and the Jeep was on the jack stands?
Well. I put the Jeep back together AND then installed the brackets. I think that it could have been done while the Jeep was apart. I had 6 ton stands under the frame and 3 ton stands under the axle BUT I think it was SAFER to install these with the wheels attached, the Jeep on the ground, and one side at a time.
Thanks for the replies.

The Rancho version of the correction brackets come with a replacement bolt. I used a cut-off wheel to remove the factory bolt. Not enough patients for the Sawzall.

I've had the Rancho 4" Sport Lift on my 2010 Unlimited Sahara for almost a year now. The brackets have always been included with Rancho's 4" Sport Lift. They really work.

Wow! Just noticed that dent in my oil pan.

even though the rancho brackets seem to be built stronger, wouldn't the aev still seem to be the better choice? Better flexibility with lift height and pre drilled for 2.5, 3.5, and 4.5. Is the rancho specifically set for 4" but can work with 2.5-4"?
