Oh man, now I feel bad.... I should have ordered from you, I wasn't thinking! I just ordered a front one already:(

Have you had people install a rear locker for the D44 open carrier? If you are 100% sure (and I trust your judgment) then I'll order one from you today!

Dont feel bad no problem at all.

I have not sold a dana 44 Locker to a JK owner yet sorry. We will be building 2 JK axles with ARB's in approx 3-4 weeks and I will test fit a aussie in there and let everyody know.

Using an ARB in the front of my last TJ I am a little ignorant on one thing. With an Aussie installed up front and the vehicle in 2wd you shouldn't notice it in the snow, correct? I thought it's when you are in 4wd and have power transfering to the axel that there can be issues with turning. Please correct me I have always ran selectable lockers.

Where is WOL's write up on the install? I've searched everywhere.... Any help would be great! My Aussie will be here tomorrow, and I plan on trying to tackle it myself.

Here's the write-up I did on my TJ's Dana 30 which should pretty much be the same for your JK...

I forgot about the tight turning radius in 4wheel on trails. I am used to flicking the switch on my ARB and turn I will have to decide if I want to man handle it, shift the TC, or just pony up and get an ECTED. Thanks for the info.

I installed my Aussie Thursday night and Friday... took it wheeling today... and WOW.. it's crazy. I love it. felt way more in control. worked awesome in reverse too. Very pleased with it. didn't get a chance to hit anything too crazy today, but I'll take to some more hard core places after the break-in... actually I think the miles i put on it today would count as the break-in.

Easy install, just be careful with the those little springs!!! I had one fly across the garage and had to hunt for it for an hour! my suggestion, when you place the springs in, take the carrier into a very very very small room, like a bathroom or something (but cover the toilet and the sink just in case one flies off, also cover any AC vents) that way you don't have to search as much for one if you lose it

can't really fill it at all on the road (in 2 high) except for really tight turns. but as soon as you hit 4-hi, you feel it, it's like it's pulling the JK now, and what is really funny, is that I can tell when one of my rear wheels hits a rock and it's not the one with the traction, it feels like it kind of gets dragged or pulled over the rock, instead of being in control and actually driving over it. Best 249 I ever spent! well worth the time to install, well worth the smell of the axle grease in my garage and house now (my girlfriend would beg to differ tho )

I can't wait to put one in the rear!!! PLease Northridge4x4, please please get that test fit done, or let me be the guinea pig, b/c I'm about to swap my gears starting tomorrow or Monday, so I can test fit one for you then. I'll pay upfront first, and if it fits sweet, I'll keep it, and if it doesn't :( I'll be sad and have to return it... sound like a deal? I can install it this week

I want one for the rear so bad. These little lockers are perfect, no worries on the trail, easy install, no need to set the backlash or anything. Awesome product at an awesome price.
