I just went to the BDS website to confirm. One of the suspension choices was a 2" Coil lift. This is based off of a 2008 Unlimited X.

Yes. But the coil lift only works on the unlimiteds.

I have decided I will get the 2" BB, but trying to see if I can skip on the cam bolts without major steering problems... anyone have feedback on this?

Is the 3" BDS lift (or any 3" lift) an issue with a 4-door '08 JK (5-speed)?

I can't speak to any other brand, because my only direct experience is with this one. The BDS 3" coil lift kit gave me about 2" of lift. You can read about my customer experience with BDS in the following thread:

Cliffs: I am disappointed with BDS as a manufacturer. Their customer service was also sub-par after bringing issues to their attention. They have never made a reasonable attempt to correct the issue.

Does it make a difference if it is a 4 door?

I'm running the the BDS 3" lift. It's almost identical to the Rubicon Express 3.5" kit. I'd say the quality is also about the same. Actually the BDS 3" has quick disconnects where the RE 3.5" does not. It's when you go beyond the 3" kit and get into upper and lower control arms that you'll see the big difference between kits. Mainly in the Urethane bushings. Bang for the buck and for Daily Driving with light to medium wheeling, the BDS 3" kit is good and is Very good if you get the upraded Nitrogen shocks. If I decide to add control arms it will be a different brand.

Man, I beg to differ. RE makes a far superior product. I got the Teraflex arms with my BDS kit.....The arms are great....the lift, not so much.

Well RE doesn't make anything right now. No doubt the Tera Flex arms are better than the BDS. If you go and read the full post, I said that the BDS arms aren't that great. But the basic 3" lift main components are Springs, Shocks, and disconnects. I even recomend the upgraded shocks for the BDS which makes it more comparable to the RE basic kit. RE becomes far supperior with more advanced lifts.

I'm curious of whats not so great about your BDS springs and shocks.
