BDS lift kits
yea do yourself a favor and install yourself. You will be glad you did if somethig ever fails because you will be able to get under there and take a look and see whats wrong and know what your looking at, if for no other reason. When i first got my JK, i paid a shop $150 to instal a $150 BB. Now i have taken my suspension apart and everything else myself, and now knowing how easy it was for them to install some spacers, i am offeneded they charged me $150.
I now do everyhthing myself. Sure, Ive had to go out and probably spent an extra $200 on tools for some of the stuff (a torque wrench is a MUST) and now have 2 toolbags that live in my JK, and I have been glad quite a few times that they where there and I knew about my JKs suspension and steering components. I know it seems a little intimidating, but it really is easy. just my $.02
Oh and I had the standard BDS shocks for a little while and I thought they sucked. IMHO BDS makes better lifts for chevys and other trucks and crap, with a jeep, Im gonna stick with companies that specialize in jeeps. Nothing against any of you who are happy with your BDS lifts/parts, just my opinion.

Sorry if im rambling, went to happy hour a little early today
I had BDS 3" spring/coil lift on my old cherokee and I loved their shocks. Any shock would be better than the stock X shocks.
I will takea look-see at NorthRidge and see what they have to offer.

I put the 3" lift on the Wifes JK just over a year ago. I also put on adj control arms to stay away from the cam bolts. I also put on an adj track bar, \
No problems yet, with 35's. I might upgrade her shocks, so it has a better ride. I got a great deal, the shop quoted me the price for the TJ lift, when the wife went to pick it up, they told her they made a mistake, so she told them she didn't want it. They ended up giving it to her at the lower price.

I have the 4.5" lift on my 4door with tflex spacers on front, added adj lwr control arms and adj trackbars. Running 35" and can rub on full articulation. Very happy with the setup, but need to increase bumpstop length.
Rides like stock, and nothing has sagged the past 2 years.

I also have the BDS 3" on a Rubicon unlimited with 35" tires.
I am having a problem with rubbing though. I have JKS front & rear trackbars, and Teraflex front lower control arms, and I think they're set incorrectly. Here's a link to the thread with my issues and updates.

When I first started looking for a shop to do the work on my build I called a place out by my folks house in East TX. They were really cool and even though I was sure I wanted the AEV kit, they kept trying to convince me the BDS would be "just fine." They were cool about it, but it seemed like I was getting the hard sell for no other reason then thats what they push all of their customers to. SO after he got the point that I wasnt intersted in the BDS kit he said "Okay now, AVB who?"
BTW - Stay as far away from BUCKS4x4 in Boise Idaho as you can. They're crooks and shade tree mechanics! Sent me home with a 2500HD with the ass end rubbing the ground and the front end touching the sky and told me thats they way it was supposed to be. They didnt adjust the pinion angle and I chewed up the rear gears 2K miles down the road. Instead of fixing it, they told me to go $%^& myself.
You did a good thing coming here and asking your question. Though Im sure it(BDS) is a decent lift. I would highly suggest the Tera Flex 2.5in lift. They're popular, proven, and they're on the forums here daily.
TonyT.

I am not going to drive down to Idaho for a lift ha.
I want the TeraFlex 2.5" BB myself, but I wouldn't mind a sweet 3" lift. I have had great luck with BDS on my cherokee. Why do you guys say that the BDS shocks suck?
