To help install the mesh or safari top into the door surrounds, I do this:

On one side of the Jeep, start the first few inches(by the windshield) of the plastic strip into the door surround.

Then go to the other side and start the last few inches of the plastic strip and start working forward until its in. Go back to the other side and finish tucking in the rest of the plastic strip. Piece of cake!

It fits loose and it is very flappy. Works much better with the door surrounds attached.

I did a write up about the best top bikini, windjammer(not the wrap around), and deck cover. my JK came with a hard top so I had none of the hardware components from the softtops. I included my thoughts, tips, and my under $25 fix for the gaps that are created from this set up.

get a wraparound... it eliminates the safari flapping noise if thats a problem.

I got the Bestop bikini...like using it with the door frames on...not so much using the rollbar as it tends to unwind itself at speed (i.e. won't stay tight against the rollbar). Aside from that, I really like it. I got mine April of last year and I think Bestop has a new "strapless" version that may be better.

Default get tonneau props

Get some tonneua props to keep it lifted up, so you don't get wet. Or get about a 2" pvc pipe, cut it to the size of the sound bar, and just wrap a towel around it to prevent flapping. Works like a champ.

I have a BestTop bikini top with the roof rail. I live in Arizona and the summer sun is a killer with no top. I enjoy having the bikini top on and the doors off. There is alot of wind noise and the fit is not a tight as I would like but for the price it's not bad at all.

I put the Safari top and duster on in May and run it until October. Thinking of putting it on tomorrow.
