That is about the same thing I went through. I spoke with Mark and he sent me measurements for the brackets and they were real close but they were off. Also I found that the rail itself had a slight curve to it. About a 1/8 inch higher in the center than the ends (Drivers Side). Mark told me that he would get back to the office on the 27th. He told me that he wanted to make sure that the next set was build properly and not one of the ones that are off. He said that I could leave them on the Jeep and just put a piece of heater hose between the body and the rail to stop it from hitting. I put the stock ones back on. I am lucky that my Jeep in not a daily driver. But as luck would have it the little car that is good on gas broke down while all this was going on. So I could not drive 105 miles round trip with it hitting I would have gone insane.

Default Aaargh! Can't anything be easy?

I just got off of the phone with Angie from Body Armor. There is apparently an issue (as The Jeep mentioned in the previous post) with the latest batch of JK Body Armor Rockcrawler Side Guards--they don't fit correctly. Specifically the passenger side rail, when mounted, presses up against the body--not good for a frame mount rock rail. The fitment on the drivers side doesn't look very good either...there is too much clearance in the front, and a little too tight in the rear.

Mine came this past week while I was on vacation, so after unpacking the Jeep, I put them on. Beside the fact that 4 of 6 bolts were missing--quick trip to NAPA and $25 fixed that--the install was simple.

But sadly, I have a pair from the bad batch and they don't fit correctly. Mark is currently at a show somewhere in Florida and won't be back until next Tuesday.

Angie said all JK rock rail shipments are on hold until Mark gets back to figure out what the production issue is. So, mine will sit in my garage for at least another week, then probably another week waiting for mine to be shipped back, and then another week waiting for the replacements to be shipped. Who knows, by then PJ may have released their sliders.

Well, Mark was supposed to return this past Tuesday. It's been a few days and no word from Body Armor. I'm going to call them tomorrow.

Way of Life, do you happen to know the folks at Body Armor? I'd be happy to send them pics so they could see how poorly my set fit.

...hoping to resolve this soon--paint is wearing away on my rocker panels :(

Well, to be honest, I did but the company switched owners a few months back and while I did meet him at the Ontario Truckfest show, we haven't had a chance to develop a working relationship. Sorry, I wish I could be of more help.

I just got off the phone with Alan from Body Armor. Apparently Mark no longer works for the company. But, he did tell me that my replacement rails will be shipped the day after Labor Day. *yay!* So, hopefully the issues will be resolved with the new set. I'll post an update here after I receive and mount the new ones. (I'll include pics also.) Body Armor has worked with me wonderfully so far...so bonus points for customer service at this point.

Is it just me, or does it seem like there's not enough there to keep the rails from flexing upward when you hit a rock? Are they supposed to be supported vertically by the body?
