not to hijack but why would you rather have the 3.8 w/ sc vs the 3.6 w/ sc seems you would have more power with the 3.6

I'm saying that by the time you drop in a 3.6 and then s/c, you're way into LS land in terms of price. Was just saying if I had a 3.8, I would s/c rather than get a 3.6.

That said, I am not sure a N/A LS is better than a blown 3.6. Look at the dyno chart for a twin screw on a 3.6 and then one for any N/A LS. I'm trying to spin 40s in the rocks in 4 lo. A blown 3.6 has way more torque at the bottom than an LS. Obviously, the ideal would be a blown LS, but that type of power gets hard to control when wheeling.

I think the real treat about the LS is the transmission, I can tell you it's awesome couldn't imagine needing more power down low. Can't even get the thing to come to a complete stop after the swap lol. Having to upgrade the brakes now$$. Never herd about that with blown 3.6. Not putting it down cause they are really good just putting in my 2 cent.

Sorry I have been slacking recently. I knew this would happen which is why I tried to get everything up before I forgot. Good intentions...
Anyhow, I am posting the price list so far including tax and shipping and improvements I didnt need (like a rubi transfer case, BR6 brakes, and new seats).

I still havent worked out every bug. Right now I have an EVAP error running the 2008 evap canister. So I have a 2013 canister, and the armor to go with it, but I havent had a chance to see where the extra line is plumbed. The 2008 JK had two interfaces from the fuel cell to the EVAP, the 2013 has 3 interfaces, and the small one has a line that wanders off somewhere... That somewhere is what I need to find out. So anyhow, if any of you have removed your fuel tank and have pictures of the plumbing to the EVAP canister it would be much appreciated.

Also, as winter gets closer, I need to plumb the vacuum booster for the brakes. This hasnt been a problem yet, but I suspect cold weather may change that ..??

As for worth it.. yes. It was fun, I got to improve a ton of stuff, the 3.6 is noticeably more powerful and more efficient. I havent had any real issues yet, it runs smoothly, and I have logged quite a few long trips. I will say the 3.8 "felt" torquier off the line, but disappointed everywhere else. I was considering a stroked 3.8, but I am happy with what I ended up with. I would like to add an edelbrock, but that piggy bank needs more $.

Wiring diagrams still to come.

I think it would be useful to people if you also posted a cost number for just the swap.

As for the EVAP, there is the additional line coming from the tank (but you can connect to any of the small evap lines). At the end of that line is a sensor of some sort that is wired to the engine bay. No clue where it goes. I put a custom fuel cell in and just made sure it was all hooked back up and I have zero codes.

I updated the list in the previous post to justthe parts needed for the swap (including tools I didnt have like hoist and tranny jack, and some wrenches). Subtract tools and it is about $400-$500 cheaper.

For the small line coming from the fuel tank, I know where it hooks into the EVAP, but where does it hook into the fuel tank? Is it up front? Do you have a picture?
The sensor you refer to is the fuel pressure sensor. I had to wire one in ('08 did not have it, but '13 requires one or an emissions code gets tossed), and splice it into the fuel filler vent line: picture later.

It went to an evap connection like everything else. I just connected mine to a rollover vent and the other lines I ran into a T so it connected to the other vent and to the evap. No issues. My stock tank had 3 vent connections. I have 2 now as I ran two together. The pressure sensor was in the high part of the tank where it has the three connections - two small vents and the 5/8" vent.

Also, it is a "vapor" pressure sensor. Hence the reason not to T into that line.
