I gotta agree, all silver (top and bumpers) looks fantastic. I was parked next to a silver G Wagon the other day and I must say I liked the looks of my JK better (also the price). The JK is less "upright" and more proportioned in my opinion.

Go for it and be sure to post the pics.

Regards

See my problem is you are painting two different materials, and, no matter what, the two colors will always look different. One is going to be smoother, or one is going to be less shiny, so it will just look like crap IMO.

If you sand down the texture and prep it right it will look the same.

$500? If they are a reputable shop they will give a "lifetime warranty" on the paint. The windows should come out and everything detrimmed (NOT MASKED!) If they don't do the above then don't have them do it. "Cheaper" does not always mean "Less Expensive." I undo and then redo alot of "cheap" jobs for a whole lot more than what It would have cost for me to do it in the first place.

this was my worry. a lot of "reputable" paint and body shops do some spectacularly crappy jobs in my eyes. But for 500.00, if he likes what he sees, then thats what matters. Hell i dont think i would do the job for anything less than 2500.00 or so. (canada funny money)

Any photos of the painted top yet? I'm planning the same thing (although the quote I got from our local reputable paint/body shop was $1500-$2000 (that includes sanding down the top, primer and using OEM paint and clear coat w/ lifetime warranty on the paint)...I just have to wait til it stops raining and its not so cold out since I don't have dual tops...
