Make sure the seller programs it first, otherwise you have to buy another $60 piece of hardware for the programming. The Amazon seller programmed it which is nice.

Got my unit today and I must be some kind of complete dummy because I am following the directions to the T and I can't get the damn lights to flash blue rapidly after inserting the key and turning it to the ON position. When they say turn it to the ON position, do they mean actually STARTING the Jeep or just the regular ON where your radio turns on? Either way, the lights stay a solid blue and never flash. So, I can never get to the part where I turn the key OFF and then press Lock on my key.

I called Fortin tech support (Canada) and the guy asked me to read off my Service # from the bottom of the unit. He looked it up and it said it was NOT programmed for Standalone functionality and I would need that Flashlink updater to fix it. I emailed Car Alarm Depot to inquire about my situation. Waiting for a response...

FRUSTRATING...and I'm a pretty savvy IT guy.

Lol I love when IT people say that bout themselves. I wind up having to fix it for them. I'm not saying you aren't or don't know what your doing. I'm really not. It just made me think of that.

Yea just sounds like they didn't program it. I would have them send you the flash link for free and play around with it yourself. Who knows you might find something's in it you want to change it add. Might be some cool features we are missing out on.

I have just erased all doubts about my being a moron. I totally rushed and didn't even see that the second 20-pin harness included in my package is actually supposed to be used. I thought, "this is supposed to be all plug and play. Why would I need to splice any wires..." Well, there you go. Turns out you need to splice the yellow wire from the 20-pin harness to the yellow wire on the bigger main harness.

I am an IDIOT!!!

All works now!
