Try it a few times. 3rd time mine did not. Try pressing the lock button 3 times fast, then also try doing it 3 times slowly. See if that makes a difference at all. I wish I could mess around more with mine but I am at work now.

Could be total coincidence, but worth a try to see if it makes a difference. Can't see why it would, stranger things have happened lol!

I got an email from the seller, they referred me to the manual. Looks like if you have a factory alarm, the purple/white wire has to be grounded for 1 sec. What the hell does that mean?

I just got the same email, asking for clarification on when. Want to make sure this is done right. Will post back when they reply.

Still waiting on reply, but in the manual step 7 says with an OEM alarm, when programming, tuen key forward, you press the UNLOCK key instead of the LOCK key, turn key off, then you are done. When remote starting it will unlock the door, remote start, then lock the door again. Weird. Not sure what the grounding of the wire will do. Waiting for reply. Dont wanna short something out.

Default Sure do for manual trans...

Great post guys. Can't wait for the Fortin unit to become available for manual transmissions. I know other brand remote starters have been available for many years for manual transmissions. I had a remote starter in my 04 Rocky Mountain which was a manual. Was kinda a PITA to set it so it would start, but understandable with the clutch and all... Someone in an earlier post wondered what the process was like for manuals. On my TJ, with engine running and in neutral, you would have to apply the e-brake, within three seconds step on the brake pedal 3x, wait for headlamps to flash 3x then turn ignition key off, engine would continue to run and you would have to exit. When you closed the driver door, engine would shut off and was now ready to be remote started. That is as long as you didn't open the driver's door before remote starting. If you did, the whole sequence had to be repeated. It only took a few seconds to do but it's sooooo much easier in my hubby's Tundra with an auto.

Now finding someone willing to install it in a manual is a different story. Many shops just don't want the added liability. I have a guy who has done all my tinting and remote starters since the early 2000's and he wouldn't put one in my 10 JKRU. He said he did several in JKs since 07 and has had electrical issues so he's opted out.

Being he's one of a very few people I trust working on my vehicles, no remote starter in my 10...

That is, until Fortin releases theirs for the manual and I do it myself! Well, myself with the help of you guys!

Again, great thread, thanks for the info!!!
