Ice would be a bigger issue for me as water froze below the hood line. If they had an insert for the winter months when heat reduction wasn't an issue it would be more viable in the region where I live.

good point,

when you come my way, we'll definetly have to go to 4wd hardware (about 2 minutes from me)

the one employees red 4 door just got the truck master hood installed. I'll get some pics tommorrow.

Didn't AEV design and test their hood in Montana? What's a Montana winter like compared to an Ohio winter?

Yeah, I'd love to see it in person. It definitely seems a lot more functional than the AEV hood because of where the heat exits and the ducting from the cowl with a little work could be very efficient.

I'm worried about road salt as well, that can't be good on the engine

Friends body shop painted the one for 4wd, he said it was one of the nicer after market hoods they have painted. Camp uses them as well. I'll get some pics tommorrow

my engine compartments been a little on the wet side and its survived so far with many many puddles like this, so I think with some holes in the hood you guys would be ok, but I wouldnt be putting on thru the stuff I go thru
