one con not mentioned yet. if you plan on running windshield lights or have them already be careful many setups will get in the way of the snorkel.

I've heard that you have to take a snorkel off when it rains or water will get down into your engine. Any thoughts?

Only if it's blowing a northerly at the same time.

A lot of people with the ram air snorkles turn the intake around when it rains.

Big negative. There are weep holes at the bottom of the ram air head that allows any water to drain out. I've driven through several heavy storms and checked the air box when I got home, dry as a bone.

Clearly, you want to extend your breathers with a snorkel, or without one. I did a write-up

Then your going to want to seal the drain holes, in your air box, with some silicon. I think I would add a duckbill drain on that step. They don't let water in but let it out. It's shown on this thread ->https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/jk-w...-drain-249620/ . In all likely hood it is over kill.

That looks like the ARB one. This is the AEV one (for 3.8L) for comparison

The fender must be removed to install the Rugged Ridge snorkel? How difficult is the install, really?

Easy! Just time consuming. We installed one and it was alot of work for something so simple! Maybe it was just because of the light bar.
