I have set down on mine a couple of times now with no damage. I could have be lucky or it could have been that I wasn't going fast enough to slam down on the rock.

Ya they aren't true rock sliders lol Seems lots of people damage their rocker panel which would be what you're talking about unless it bent up into your front fender. if so just pop it off and fix it lol

Depending on the dent, paintless dent removal might work on it. Otherwise it's gotta be pulled & painted. The fiance was t-bone & I had to fix her rocker panel. Pain in the ass & the only way to properly do it was to remove the entire side of the Jeep but insurance wouldn't do it. It would've wrote it off I'm sure. But yours doesn't sound too bad so up to $500 to fix depending on the method.

Sound like you came down pretty hard. I've used mine quite a bit with no damage. They protect against the rub and the slide not the hard drop. I've even used them as a high-lift point when I stuck a rock thru my sidewall with no real damage at all.

They allowed a scratch on my door+rocker but saved me at least $2,000.

Yea they are Sliders not slammers. I actually got wedged between two rocks good enough that I couldnt open my doors. Fortunately a friend tugged me out from behind and everything flexed back down but after that I decided the Rubi Sliders had to go. Anyways I had a couple places where they chipped the paint but I feathered them out with sand paper and painted the whole pinch seam black so I have maybe 5 bucks in my "Fix" not counting the sliders I built. I know you already bought sliders but if your wheeling where you are going to slam down on stuff I would recomend getting weld on sliders over body mounted. They will last longer and protect better than almost any body mounted slider.

Yeah, I know they are not meant for too much.

I think my situation was unlucky. I caught the rock just right and it actually pulled the slider part away from the mounting bracket causing it to flex into the quarter panel. I am hoping to drop the rail and be able to pull the pinch seem back into being straight and then pushing the panel back straight but I am not sure yet. Buddy of mine walked around it and couldn't even find the issue, so it is small but I am worried more about the door being straight and what is right behind the rail being the damaged parts.

I had seen many photos of the damage they caused and that's why I was going to order a set of PSC Rocker Brawlers to put on there. This being the reason I am worried about the damage since I need the skin's to go on smoothly. Plus I am a little OCD about things and even the guy I was with looked at it and was like, "It looks fine to me" but then I look and could see every little piece where there was a problem.

I am impressed that they held up for this! On my last Jeep, a Sahara, I had one running board touch a rock and the pinch seam flexed under that load super easy.

Yea, not sure how I feel about welding them on. Plus I don't know of any 4x4 shops in my town. Guess I could get a body shop to do it. Only plus side would be that they are a little cheaper than the PSC's.

Also, seems like they would be kind of a pain to touch up the power coat... ?

Also, not sure how I feel about putting skin's on if they don't have a purpose like the PSC's.

Anyone have video of how well the Evo's or the PSC's do when coming down on a rock?
