I was a YJ guy in the early 90's and it was awesome. I really put the Jeep work!
I picked up a 2010 JKU Rubi a couple of months ago and am very happy with it. The only thing that irritates me is when people tailgate. I'm not sure why people get the urge to ride my butt (you know what I mean). Same with my YJ but I completely forgot about it.
Anyway, I'm taking Rubi to the dealership for a couple of factory recalls on Monday. Yeah the axle fastener torque recall and door latch issue.
Thanks again for the welcome!
You can read the Transmission Temp in the Superchip NOW - Superchip will email an update link to be able to read it.
I have had a Jet Chip 1 and a Superchip for my 08 JK, I traded for 11 JK Rubicon and have been waiting (7 months now)for Superchip to update their programing. Just get excuses from them. I would be very interested in the Bully Dog unit. I would gladly sell either or both these paper weights.
nevermind on the question about adjust speedometer. found info on the bully dog at truck customizers.com. they also have free shipping on it!
Tuning Levels on the 3.8L Wrangler JK
•OFFROAD TUNE - 11.5 HP, 15.3 TQ,
Engine Fan turns on High Speed at 200° F Coolant Temp Level. The off road tune is very similar to the Reg/ Tow Tune power wise. However, to make the tune more effective off road the throttle sensitivity has changed up. Our throttle mapping is less sensitive than OEM tuning at lower throttle % engagement to give off-roaders more control over the actual power that they put to the ground.
•REGULAR / TOWING TUNE - 11.5 HP, 15.3 TQ,
Engine Fan turns on High Speed at 205° F Coolant Temp Level. This tune is great for everyday driving and towing use. Meant for use with regular octane pump gas but any OEM approved fuel will work.
•PREMIUM / SPEED TUNE - 15+ HP, 20+ TQ,
Engine Fan turns on High Speed at 205° F Coolant Temp Level. This tune is meant to maximize your potential horsepower. A minimum of 91 octane gasoline is required to avoid risk of engine damage.
Download Features:
features only available by downloading
•Speed Limiter: Adjust from 45mph to 200mph.
•Rev Limiter in Drive: Adjust from 5000 rpm to 6500 rpm.
•Rev Limiter in Neutral: Adjust from 5000 rpm to 5700 rpm.
•Transmission shift point: Modify shift points at Wide Open Throttle on an automatic.
•Calibrate Speedometer: Adjust from a tire size of 23.2" up to 45.5".
Special Features:
These features can be used with or without installing a download.
•Engine Fan: Turn the engine fan on or off.
•IDLE Up: Change engine idle when in park or neutral.
•TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system): Air down to under 10 PSI without a light.
•Disable Traction Control: Completely disable traction control, great for off road.
•Sway Bar Disconnect: (Rubicon only) Disconnect the sway bar up to 30 mph automatically, there is no physical installation required.
•Lockers: (Rubicon only) Engage lockers in 2wd 4wHi and 4wLow, this feature is recommended for those who know how lockers work.

I LIKE that the BD can turn the engine Fan On/Off feature. And that you can use the Lockers in 2 WD

For example, monitoring the dreaded auto tranny temperature and even setting custom alarms. There are several other monitoring parameters that the Bully Dog reads directly from the OBD port and can display four at a time using gauges or graphs.
This saves quite a bit of money on gauges and dashboard holes to install them. ;-)
I understand Superchips is promising the Vivid, which should also show real time engine parameters, for May but it will cost a lot more because it will run on an Archos 5 multimedia device.

The Superchips Vivid does look reaaally cool. I love how you can use it with a backup camera and clinometer etc. The only thing that doesn't make sense to me is that they sell it as a piece of hardware...if it's on an android device they should have just created an app and sold the dongle separately. I'd love to have the vivid but I don't really want to pay for the Archos 43 'media player' to run it - I wish I could just use my iphone! At $600, it's probably a better deal to go with the Bullydog if you're looking for tuning with a cool display.
EDIT: I just read about the Superchips AVID model that will be out this Summer - That will be saweeeeeet.

What really sold me (and several order folks) on the Bully Dog was the real-time monitoring capability on a good display that is also very easy to use.

With the Superchip you can read 4 parameters at one time. And you can also read the Transmision Temperature (you have to email them for an update for the tranny Temp)
Being able to adjust the Engine Fan Temperature is a big plus. I change the Thermostant in the Engine for a 180* F and set the Fan temperature to come on in Medium speed at 195*F and High speed at 205*F Now the Jeep runs cooler and the Transmission Temp is also lower than with the Stock 195*F thermostant.

Same here. I already have an Archos media player and do not need another. Also, considering how some apps can screw-up a device i's rather have the tuner on a dedicated device.
