Superchips Flashpaq for JK, Initial Impressions
Yes it will work in a VM. I have both Parallels and VMware Fusion. In this case I used a WinXP VM in Fusion just because I had it up and running.
Once I got past a registration glitch on the web interface, it worked as advertised.
The only other glitch was when I loaded a couple of optional packages once the update with the latest firmware was done to my Flashpaq. It never gave me a message that the upload was complete, so I tried 3 times.
As it turns it out the optional packages had been loaded, I just never got a notification.
I have connected successfully twice since I purchased it to see if there any revs of the firmware.
In general, I would say it works as well as any other USB device in a Windows VM.
I definitely recommend it.

Got my box of goodies from Superchips last night and happy to have a sticker to put on my tool chest.
Many thanks to Superchips for their support of this site and a great product that keeps getting better.

Been using VMware fusion with my superchip for 6-7 months. No problems. It would be nice to have it Mac compatible, then I could get rid of my windows partition all together. The superchip is the only reason I ever go into the filthy windows side of my machine.
Just installed SC on my 09 x 6spd 4door. I did the update and the install went fine but was wondering do I have to imput the fact that I already have an Airaid CAI and a Magnaflow exhaust or will it pick up on this on its own? I did the Quick Tune 87 Octane and the performance was only slightly better than before the install.
Thanks for the help

Nope, that's it and you're all good. The PCM with the Superchips tune is still going use the MAP sensor and will adjust your A/F mixture accordingly. It might take a bit for the PCM relearn to happen but most see an immediate improvement.

Glad you are receiving them guys. Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving. For those that have not yet received them yet they will be going out after the holiday. I believe everyone that sent a note w/ contact info by last Wed has received. I"ve got a guy in Canada whose may take a little longer to get there so if he is reading this... rest assured I have not forgot about you.
Take care,
Jim

Hey all....I have a question....especially for you JPop if you happen to be around.... Some of you may have seen my post "Cold and MPGs" in the JK Talk section.
I haven't updated or retuned the JK since early summer. I was wondering if I updated the Flashpaq and retuned it now that it's cold out, if you think it might help with the fuel economy? I guess what I'm saying is, does the Flashpaq take into account the outside temp when it tunes your vehicle? So would it make a difference if I retuned it when it was in subzero temps? Or does it not make any difference......meaning, a tune is made in just one way and it doesn't matter what the outside temperature is....???
Thanks....

Does anyone know if SC plans to add the ability to override the factory setting for disengaging/reengaging the electronic swaybar to make it stay off till a higher speed? Mine re-engages at around 15-18 mph.

The temp compensation is built into the tune - it's using the AIT (Air Intake Temperature) sensor to determine the temperature of the incoming air and uses it along with a couple other sensors to make a calculation on air density (and volume - so it can add the appropriate amount of fuel).
SO - that said - IMHO the only reason to update the flashpaq is to obtain the latest tuning parameters they have and possibly the additional features (i.e. tpms)... I think it's kind of like updating your PC's BIOS - If it's performing well and you're happy and there are no release notes (or posts) which say they've made a significant change that you need I'd just run what you've got...
